Q: Is this the first time you’ve subscribed to a car?

Laura: Yes, I moved house in March and my contract at the time with work involved me working from home. So we thought, let’s try and see if we can get away with just the one car for a few months.

It was all working fine, then I got a new job that needed me to be in the office at least three days a week, so at that point I was like, ok, I’m going to need a car! 

Q: Why did you choose to subscribe to a car instead of buying or financing one?

Laura: It’s so convenient. I’m a really busy person and didn’t like the thought of having to sort out my insurance, breakdown cover and all that kind of stuff. I just really like the idea of subscribing – it’s easier!

The thing is, I don’t have the money to buy a car outright because I’ve just bought a new house and obviously all the money goes into that. So I thought, well, this will give me a chance to save for a car as it works out cheaper to keep it maintained too.

I know exactly how much my car is going to cost me every month for the next two years and I don’t have to worry if anything goes wrong.

Q. What made you go for this particular make and model?

Laura: I’ve had a Fiat 500 before, so I know they’re reliable. I like the look of them as well, they just look nice! And also it being a mild hybrid car. I wanted something that was going to be sustainable. I can’t afford an electric car and it felt like the next-best thing.

Q. How easy was it to order your car online?

Laura: Super easy. So easy that I called up to say, “Are you sure it’s just this easy?!” because I couldn’t believe it.

Q. How did you feel when you saw your car for the first time, and did you enjoy the handover?

Laura: Really, really excited. I posted all about it on my Instagram because it felt really fun having a car delivered. I’ve never had a car delivered to me before. It was nice to see the van just outside my house and the moment when the driver opened a little hatch and I could just see the wheel! The whole experience was really lovely.

Q. What’s the best thing about getting a car on subscription?

Laura: Just knowing exactly how much my car is going to cost every month. I’m not worried and I feel like I’ve got a whole team behind me and I’m not left to do anything on my own. I would just panic every time I took my old car to the garage, thinking “How much is it going to cost me this time?”. Not now. That panic’s gone. 

Also, if you lease a car they tend to ask for really big, chunky deposits and I love the fact that the deposit was only as much as a monthly subscription. So it made it instantly affordable for me.

Q. Did our Customer Support Team help you at any stage of your Cazoo journey?

Laura: Yes, I called them on a Sunday and someone picked up in about 30 seconds. It just felt really easy to talk to somebody and they were very helpful and knew exactly what I was talking about and I wasn’t passed on to anyone. All contact I’ve had with Cazoo so far has been phenomenal.

Q. What would you say to anyone thinking about subscribing to a car?

Laura: It solved a problem really quickly for me. I needed a car and I didn’t have the time to research loads of cars, get my insurance and all that kind of stuff. It helps me to budget and gives me peace of mind, so that’s been brilliant. I feel like I trust Cazoo.
