Seat Leon X-Perience 1.6 TDI (81 kW) 4WD Start-Stop
In Audi they are called Allroad, in VW Alltrack, in Škoda they are called Scout, and in Seat they changed their name. It used to be Freetrack, now it's X-Perience. The recipe is, of course, the same: a station wagon, four-wheel drive, increased belly-to-ground clearance, several visually styled under-engine and rear guards, and plastic trim for a better look.
For higher price brands or models there is also a chassis (pneumatically adjustable) but this is not a necessity - more powerful engines and generally richer equipment are not a necessity. All-wheel drive isn't a must yet... For the Seat X-Perience, it's currently only a Leon, and you can only think of it with a 1,6-horsepower 110-litre turbodiesel, even with only front-wheel drive. But the tester, fortunately, had an ATV. Fortunately, not because we couldn't live without it (although there was a rather slippery road under the wheels), but because for two thousandths of a difference you get not only four-wheel drive, but also a six-speed one. Manual transmission instead of five-speed.
This character of such a Leon changes dramatically - as does consumption. Despite "only 110 horsepower", such a Leon gives the impression of a more powerful motorized car, there are not many revolutions on the track, and only 5,2 liters were enough on a standard lap, despite the fact that all-wheel drive and slightly worse aerodynamics . The Leon X-Perience is slightly taller than the classic Leon station wagon, so its front surface is larger. Its belly has been raised by engineers 27 millimeters off the ground (which also means it's easier for those who don't like to sit low to get in and out of the car), and all-wheel drive is of course the latest generation. classics of the concern, designed for cars with a transverse engine. This means that a fifth-generation Haldex clutch mounted at the rear, which is controlled by a computer using oil, more or less compresses the lamellas inside itself and thus distributes the torque between the front and rear wheels.
The fifth generation is 1,4 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, and of course the Leon X-Perience (similar to other user groups of this technology) mainly drives the front wheels and the response time of the transmission of torque to the rear wheels if the front wheels slip. , measured in milliseconds. Together with a computer simulated (with the help of brakes) differential lock and a driver who is not intimidated by the first slip, the system is quite effective even with clean road tires. The X-Perience equipment is very similar to the classic Leon Style equipment, and it already includes 17-inch wheels, which are unique to the Leon X-Perience. For an extra thousand, you can also think of the X-Perience plus package from the list of accessories, which adds front and rear parking sensors and navigation, a rain sensor and automatic light connection for just over € 100 and LED headlights for a thousand more. Thus, you can assemble a perfectly equipped car for about 27 thousand, which (if you are not picky about engine performance) is ideal not only on the road, but also on gravel and carts, and, of course, in winter. In the snow. This is already a very reasonable price.

evaluation
This Leon X-Perience is proof that a family motorhome with some adventurous spirit can be had at a reasonably reasonable price. It would be even better with a more powerful DSG engine and transmission, but then the price is much higher - also because, unfortunately, you can only think of DSGs with the most powerful engines.
