The longest car in the world

"American Dream" (American Dream) with a length of 30,5 meters entered the Guinness Book of Records as the longest car in the world. This is the creation of the Americans, who are known to love making such machines.

It was built in the 1990s by Jay Orberg. The base was a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado. The design had two engines, 26 wheels, and was modular so it could spin better. The American Dream had two drivers and even a pool. At its best, the huge Cadillac limousine had an articulated center section that required a second driver, as well as two engines and 26 wheels. The Eldorado's front-wheel-drive configuration made it easy to build the project, as there are no driveshafts or floor tunnels that would be much more difficult. Among the many unique features are a putting green, hot tub, diving pool and even a helipad.

However, over the past two decades, the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado has aged quite a bit. Simply put, his condition now is rather deplorable. Autoseum (training museum), the owners of this car, were going to restore the Cadillac Eldorado, but according to Mike Mannigoa, these plans were not destined to come true. But Manning decided not to give up and contacted Mike Dezer, owner of the Dezerland Park Automobile Museum in Orlando, Florida. Deser bought a Cadillac and now Autoseum is involved in its restoration, attracting students and employees. Restoration work began in August 2019.

In order for the “American Dream” to get from New York to Florida, it was necessary to divide the car into two parts. The restoration has not yet ended and how long the team will need time is unknown.
