Crossing directions

amended April 8, 2020

13.1.
When turning right or left, the driver must give way to pedestrians and cyclists crossing the carriageway he turns on.

13.2.
It is prohibited to enter an intersection, intersection of carriageways or a section of an intersection marked with a marking 1.26, if a traffic jam has formed ahead of the route, which will force the driver to stop, creating an obstacle to the movement of vehicles in the lateral direction, except for turning to the right or left in the cases established by these Rules.

13.3.
An intersection where the sequence of movement is determined by the signals of a traffic light or traffic controller is considered adjustable.

With a yellow flashing signal, non-working traffic lights or the absence of the traffic controller, the intersection is considered unregulated, and drivers must follow the rules for driving unregulated intersections and priority signs set at the intersection.

Adjustable crossroads

13.4.
When turning left or turning on a green signal of a traffic light, the driver of a trackless vehicle must give way to vehicles moving from the opposite direction directly or to the right. The same rule should be followed by tram drivers.

13.5.
When moving in the direction of the arrow, which is included in the additional section at the same time as the yellow or red traffic signal, the driver must give way to vehicles moving from other directions.

13.6.
If the signals of a traffic light or traffic controller permit the movement of both tram and trackless vehicles, the tram has an advantage regardless of the direction of its movement. However, when moving in the direction of the arrow, which is included in the additional section simultaneously with the red or yellow traffic signal, the tram must give way to vehicles moving from other directions.

13.7.
A driver who has entered an intersection with a permitting traffic light must leave in the intended direction regardless of traffic signals at the exit from the intersection. However, if there are stop lines (signs 6.16) at the intersection in front of the traffic lights located on the driver's route, the driver must follow the signals of each traffic light.

13.8.
When the enable signal of the traffic light is turned on, the driver must give way to vehicles completing traffic through the intersection and to pedestrians who have not completed crossing the carriageway in this direction.

Unregulated intersections

13.9.
At the intersection of unequal roads, the driver of a vehicle moving on a secondary road should give way to vehicles approaching along the main road, regardless of the direction of their further movement.

At these intersections, the tram has an advantage over trackless vehicles moving in the opposite or opposite direction along an equivalent road, regardless of the direction of its movement.

13.10.
In the case when the main road at the intersection changes direction, drivers moving along the main road should be guided by the rules for driving intersections of equivalent roads. The same rules should be followed by drivers moving on secondary roads.

13.11.
At the intersection of equivalent roads, with the exception of the case provided for in paragraph 13.11 (1) of the Rules, the driver of a trackless vehicle must give way to vehicles approaching on the right. The same rule should be followed by tram drivers.

At such intersections, the tram has an advantage over trackless vehicles regardless of its direction of movement.

13.11 (1).
When entering an intersection at which a roundabout is organized and which is marked with sign 4.3, the driver of a vehicle must give way to vehicles moving along such an intersection.

13.12.
When turning left or turning, the driver of a trackless vehicle is obliged to give way to vehicles moving on the same road from the opposite direction, directly or to the right. The same rule should be followed by tram drivers.

13.13.
If the driver cannot determine the presence of coverage on the road (night time, dirt, snow, etc.), and there are no priority signs, he should consider that he is on a secondary road.
