Representatives of Mazda talked about the environmental damage caused by electric vehicles

Revelations from Mazda: electric car models are no less harmful to the environment than classic vehicles. Based on this, the automaker even released its first battery-powered car with a limited power reserve.

The reason for this decision is the harm that batteries cause to the environment. This was announced by Christian Schultz, who holds the position of head of the Mazda research center. The representative of the company noted that battery cars harm the planet no less (or even more) than classic models on gasoline or diesel.

A comparison was made of the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by the Mazda3 diesel hatchback and the MX-30 small battery. Result: The battery generates as many harmful substances as a regular diesel car.

This effect can not yet be resisted. Even after replacing the battery with a new one, the problem remains.

As for the 95 kWh batteries, which are equipped with, for example, the Tesla Model S: they emit even more carbon dioxide.

Information from Mazda's research debunk the myth of battery safety for the environment. However, this opinion is only one representative of the automotive market. The issue of safety of electric cars is still being studied: we will wait for new information.
