Chery Tiggo 8 will be sold in Russia

The Chinese automaker is ready to bring its next product to the Russian market. The Tiggo 8 is already certified.

The car was first shown to the public in February 2018. This is a crossover that is based on the Exeed TX concept. The official presentation took place a little later - in April. The event was held as part of the Beijing Motor Show. In June, the car was already fully sold in China.

Until recently, there were only rumors that the car will be delivered to Russia. At the moment, the information is officially confirmed, and the crossover has already passed OTTS certification. The SUV will be supplied to the Russian market starting from the 2nd quarter of 2020.

A year after the official presentation, the crossover has undergone changes. The exterior was corrected, some interior parameters were changed. There is no information about which version of the car will be delivered to Russia. There is no question of a difference in dimensions - these indicators are the same for two variations: the body length is 4700 mm, the distance between the axles is 2710 mm. If an updated version of the car is to be delivered to the Russian market, buyers will use the following features of the restyled version: dynamic turn signals, a modified shape of the grille, L-shaped chrome inserts, updated head optics.

Buyers will be able to choose the number of seats in the cabin: 5 or 7. In both cases, front-wheel drive is provided. There will be only one engine: a 2-liter unit with 170 hp. The engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

The exact price of the car in the Russian market is still unknown. If we take as a basis the cost in the Chinese market, the crossover will cost the buyer 787 thousand rubles.
