What to expect from the Skoda Enyaq?

The bold lines of the concept hardly tell what Enyaq will offer buyers, and Skoda claims we will see "emotional lines and balanced, dynamic proportions."

Much more specific are the explanations of the head of external design of Skoda models, Karl Neuhold, who explained that the Enyaq iV will differ in proportions "different from the proportions of previous models of Skoda SUVs." The shorter front end and longer roofline "create a dynamic look" and the car looks like a "space shuttle". The model is based on the Skoda Vision iV concept shown last year. According to Neuhold, the use of the MEB platform and the absence of an internal combustion engine allows "front and rear assembly", as the body is "elongated and extremely aerodynamic", as its drag coefficient is only 0,27.

What to expect from the Skoda Enyaq?

The new Skoda SUV is being born with the new Volkswagen ID 3 and should offer an onboard environment that “reflects a modern living environment,” in other words, the designers took advantage of the fact that MEB lacks a transmission tunnel and a long wheelbase. to provide more space for the driver and passengers. Skoda has already confirmed that the new SUV will have a 585-liter trunk, a 13-inch center touchscreen and an augmented reality head-up display.

Enyaq sales are due to start in April next year, and the model will be a very important part of Skoda, about to launch 10 electrified models, assembled under the iV sub-brand hat, and they should become a reality by the end of 2022.

The company confirmed that, like other MEB-based vehicles, the Enyaq will also be available in different versions: front-wheel drive or 4x4, with three battery options and five power options. The largest battery will have a capacity of 125 kilowatt-hours and provide a power reserve of almost 500 km. with one charge.

Finally, the name Enyaq is a combination of the Irish name Enya (Source of Life) and the letter q, which is found in other Skoda SUVs with conventional drive: Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq.
