Tesla has surpassed three competitors in sales in 6 months

The American manufacturer Tesla has sold 179 electric vehicles since the beginning of the year, taking 050 percent of the total car market in this segment. Over the past year, Musk's position has climbed five percent. As a result, it outperforms the sales totals of all three key competitors.

A large market share was achieved by the Renault-Nissan alliance, which nevertheless managed to overtake Volkswagen AG to take second place. Both groups each hold 10% of the global electric vehicle market with 65 and 521 sales, respectively.

Renault-Nissan hopes to close the gap with the launch of the new Ariya crossover. The fourth place is occupied by the Chinese holding BYD with 46 sales (554% market share), the fifth - Hyndai-Kia concern - 7 units (43% market share).

Tesla leads in sales, even if they include hybrid models from other manufacturers, but then the company's market share drops to 19%. In this ranking, Volkswagen Group is in second place with 124 units (018%), Renault-Nissan is in third place with 13 units (84%). The top five also includes BMW - 501 units (9%) and Hyndai-Kia - 68 (503%).

The results show that only the Volkswagen Group could pose a threat to Tesla going forward. The German manufacturer is preparing a range of new and relatively affordable electric vehicles, but there are still serious problems with the launch of the first of them, the ID.3 hatchback, the start of mass production of which has been postponed until the fall.
