Choosing a jack for a car

Even before my occupation in dismantling cars, I decided to buy a good jack for the garage, so as not to suffer with the usual regular one, which is in the car from the factory. Of course, in order to change a wheel on the road, the usual will be quite enough, but if you often spend time in the garage and want to repair your car with convenience, then you need to choose something more worthwhile and reliable.

One of the very best jacks to use in the garage is the rolling jack, which for the most part can lift fairly large loads. If you have a passenger car, then a carrying capacity of 1,5 to 2,5 tons will be enough, with a margin, so to speak. Below I will talk a little about my choice.

The agony of choosing a rolling jack

First, I looked at the options that are sold in local stores. Basically, all the goods there are not of very high quality, and you should not hope for long work. You can read a lot of reviews about buying such things in shopping centers and hypermarkets, and mostly there are more negative opinions than positive opinions. That is why the option of such a purchase has disappeared from me.

As for auto parts stores, there are already more or less normal options. Since I have been using the Ombra brand tool in my work for a long time and quite successfully, I would like to buy just such a jack, but there were no such jacks in local stores. I had to wander around the Internet shops a little in search of a suitable product. And after a while I found a rather attractive option, namely the OHT 225 model with a carrying capacity of 2,5 tons.

Of course, this is not the maximum lifting height of this device, but only necessary for removing the wheels, for example. The maximum he lifts the car to a height of 50 centimeters, which is enough, even more than, to lift any car.

Another important factor is the minimum pickup height, and for this jack it is only 14 cm, which is also an excellent indicator. In general, a mega thing is useful if you want to work in the garage in comfort and not strain too much with lifting your car. The price is decent and ranges from 4500 to 5 rubles, depending on the place of purchase.
