Test Drive All SUVs – Buying Guide

AUDI Q5

2.0 TDI 170 hp four

Prices from: 39.601 EUR

Recommended version: € 41.831

This is the smallest SUV in the Audi lineup, but in terms of external dimensions it is rather bulky. The design is reminiscent of the Maison's sedans both internally and externally. There is no shortage of space and comfort aboard, and the boot is very large. However, the road behavior is amazing: good grip and driving pleasure thanks to the precise and well-tuned suspension and great engines. In addition, thanks to the all-wheel drive and good ground clearance, it feels good even on light dirt roads. However, asphalt remains the ideal habitat.

AUDI Q7

3.0 TDI 239 CV V6 quattro Tiptronic 7 posts

Prices from: 56.851 EUR

Recommended version: € 57.681

Everything is exaggerated, it exceeds 5 meters in length (509 cm) and is equipped with engines ranging from 239 to 500 hp. (6.0 V12 TDI). Thus, the performance is always excellent, but the consumption is expensive, even with turbo diesel engines. Despite its size, it is precise and fun to drive while also safe. In addition, all versions are equipped with a fast automatic transmission, up to 8 gears. It has permanent four-wheel drive, which is not enough to give it an off-road character: it is inferior to the weight and dimensions of an American truck ... And then who has the courage to drive it to the mud?

BMW X1

xDrive18d 143 CV Electric.

Prices from: 29.691 EUR

Recommended version: € 34.141

It combines the strong image of a premium SUV with the dimensions of a midsize sedan: perfect for those who want to stand out without being overdone. It has a well-finished interior, even if there is little space for passengers and luggage. Ground clearance is reduced, and for this reason, the little Bavarian feels better on asphalt than off-road. All-wheel drive versions (sDrive models are rear-wheel drive) still make it easy to overcome snowy roads. Prices are high and, despite this, many accessories are paid separately.

BMW X5

xDrive30d 245 CV Electric.

Prices from: 58.101 EUR

Recommended version: € 59.651

More than a decade ago, he helped spread the maxi-SUV phenomenon and continues to be a success even today. He loves his muscular and elegant lines, but at the same time convinces with his high build quality. The interior is very welcoming, you can comfortably travel even in five, and the (uncomfortable) third row of seats is only available for a fee. Despite the four-wheel drive and good ground clearance, it is not very suitable for off-road conditions. It is better to use it on asphalt, where the German shows himself as best as possible, showing himself to be fast, maneuverable and very comfortable.

BMW X6

ActiveHybrid 485 HP WITH.

Prices from: 63.351 EUR

Recommended version: € 107.191

It derives from the X5, but has a sloping tail, reminiscent of a coupe. In the passenger compartment, there are only four sporty seats: the quality of materials and ride comfort are high, but passengers in the rear suffer from the sloping roof shape, which reduces headroom and limits access to the rear seats. Like the model from which it descended, the X6 is also not suited for off-roading, if not light. Better to showcase it in the city, or use it for fast motorway rides, but also to get rid of some whimsy around corners, perhaps taking advantage of the 485bhp provided by the hybrid unit.

CAPTIVE CHEVROLET

2.0 VCDi 150 hp LT

Prices from: 27.501 EUR

Recommended version: € 30.001

It comes from the same project as the Opel Antara and has just been restyled. It goes well on asphalt, and thanks to the all-wheel drive with automatic feed, it is not afraid of dirt roads. But without exaggeration.

CITROEN C CROSSER

2.2 HDi 156 hp DCS Seduction Plus

Prices from: 33.131 EUR

Recommended version: € 35.681

This is the first SUV of the French company, born to the same project as the Mitsubishi Outlander and Peugeot 4007. It is focused on driving comfort: the interior is spacious and well soundproofed, and the Exclusive trim level (the most expensive) includes a third row of seats suitable for travel even at 7. The choice of engine is a must: only the 2.2 turbo diesel with a capacity of 156 hp is available. in combination with plug-in all-wheel drive and, on request, with a very convenient robotic double drive. - transmission clutch. On the street, he also knows how to have fun, but it is better to avoid difficult dirt paths.

DACIA SANDERO STEP

1.6 87 hp

Prices from: 10.801 EUR

Recommended version: € 10.801

It has raised suspensions and bumpers that give it a Sport Utility look, but under the skin remains the "regular" Sandero: an economical and spacious subcompact, completely unsuitable for SUVs.

DACIA DUSTER

1.5 dCi 107 CV Laureate 4 × 4

Prices from: 12.051 EUR

Recommended version: € 18.051

It is one of the cheapest SUVs on the market and has enjoyed some success in Italy as well. Aside from the price, the Duster impresses with its clean yet aggressive line, as well as its small size, which is also suitable for the city. There are only two engines available, the 1.6 petrol engine with 105 hp. and a more modest 1.5 hp turbodiesel. 107, both from Renault. Depending on your needs, you can choose a two- or four-wheel drive version. The latter (and good ground clearance) make it easy to overcome off-road sections, even difficult ones.

DAYHATSU TERIOS

1.3 86 CV Be You

Prices from: 19.141 EUR

Recommended version: € 21.251

It has the dimensions of a small car, perfect for both city and SUVs. It has a central differential lock, but the lack of low gears does not recommend driving on the most difficult and hard-to-reach routes.

DODGE NITRO

2.8 CRD 177 HP SXT 4WD

Prices from: 30.721 EUR

Recommended version: € 33.291

He has a very "Yankee" design and attractive prices, which make the interior quality forgiving, not the highest quality. A close relative of the Jeep Cherokee, it offers plenty of space and good off-road skills.

DR DR5

1.9 D 120 HP

Prices from: 12.481 EUR

Recommended version: € 19.981

Made in China and assembled in Italy, the DR5 was the first low-cost SUV. Its formula provides complete customization at a competitive price. Due to this, however, the quality of the finish and the ride comfort turn out to be primarily reduced by the noise level. There is only one turbo diesel available, 1.9 120 hp. from Fiat: it guarantees good mileage and interesting performance, it is a shame it doesn’t go with all-wheel drive. In light SUVs, only four-wheel drive versions are dispensed with, all with dual-fuel engines (LPG or methane). ESP is not available.

FORD PLAGUE

2.0 TDCi 163 hp Powershift Titanium 4WD

Prices from: 28.401 EUR

Recommended version: € 32.901

A kinetic design characterizes the body, while the interior is modern in style and offers a good level of comfort. However, the space is only suitable for 4 adults and the trunk has good capacity. To keep the price still quite high, you can opt for the all-wheel drive version available with a 2.0 TDCi 140 hp engine. On the other hand, mountain lovers are better off looking at 4WD, with all-wheel drive with automatic engagement: engine power reaches 163 hp, and on request it can also have a Powershift dual-clutch robotic gearbox.

LARGE WALL

5 2.4 EcoDual 126 CV Lux 4 × 2

Prices from: 20.656 EUR

Recommended version: € 22.556

Probably the most famous Chinese car in Italy. He has important dimensions, but not exaggerated, and a spacious interior. There is only one 126 hp petrol engine, dual-fuel petrol and LPG.

HYUNDAI IX35

2.0 CRDi 136 CV Comfort 4WD

Prices from: 19.641 EUR

Recommended version: € 27.841

Hyundai's smallest SUV, completely redesigned, was unveiled just a few months ago. The outer dimensions are urban, but the interior is spacious, and the trunk holds almost 600 liters. Like the body, the interior also has a modern and sophisticated design, it is a pity that the plastic used is a little harsh to the touch. It is offered with both petrol and diesel engines, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive: given poor off-road skills, all-wheel drive may be sufficient, but 4WD models can be useful on snowy roads.

HYUNDAI SANTA FE

2.2 CRDi 197 CV Comfort 4WD

Prices from: 27.641 EUR

Recommended version: € 32.441

This is the flagship Sport Utility in the Hyundai lineup: it has simple but elegant lines, a spacious (even 7-seater) and well-finished interior, perfect for long journeys. The disadvantage is reduced, but copes well on light dirt.

INFINITI EX30D

238 hp, GT

Prices from: 50.301 EUR

Recommended version: € 52.201

It is a sporty crossover: the lines are "flattened", the road behavior is precise and fun, without sacrificing comfort. It has well-finished interiors, but the price is commensurate with the prestige of the brand: high.

JEEP PATRIOT

2.2 CRD 163 CV Limited

Prices from: 26.451 EUR

Recommended version: € 28.951

Aggressive forefoot and high waist give it a stern and clean off-road look. In fact, it is a compact sports car with outstanding road performance, especially suitable for undemanding dirt roads.

JEEP COMPASS

2.0 CRD 140 CV Sport

Prices from: 26.031 EUR

Recommended version: € 28.051

It shares the floor with the Patriot, but has a less square shape and has just been restyled. It's built for the road, and all-wheel drive really helps on surfaces with poor traction (without expecting too much).

Jeep Cherokee

2.8 CRD 200 CV Limited

Prices from: 33.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 36.151

A true SUV: it is equipped with four-wheel drive with automatic engagement and low gears. Obviously, on asphalt, one cannot count on the highest comfort and driving performance. Overall dimensions are kept and the interior is spacious.

JEEP GRAND CHEROKI

5.7 V8 352 CV overland

Prices from: 52.351 EUR

Recommended version: € 63.951

This is the first model born since the Fiat acquisition by Jeep. Like previous versions, it is an "important" size car, with a muscular line and a good level of trim. At the moment, it is only available with large American engines (gasoline, up to 352 hp) in combination with electronically controlled all-wheel drive: the Selec-Terrain system is able to change the distribution of torque and power depending on the road surface, which allows behavior always optimal, even in a busy off-road (but not extreme).

JEEP COMMANDER

3.0 CRD 218 CV by land

Prices from: 55.771 EUR

Recommended version: € 57.881

Its square shape and imposing size give it a military look. It has a spacious and comfortable 7-seater cab and everything you need to handle the demanding SUV. High consumption.

KIA SORENTO

2.2 CRDi 197 CV Active class 4WD

Prices from: 28.101 EUR

Recommended version: € 36.301

More comfortable than sporty. The dimensions are not exaggerated, but there is really a lot of space on board, and it is also possible to accommodate up to 7 seats. Those who want to save money can opt for an all-wheel drive version.

LAND ROVER FREELANDER

2.2 TD4 150 hp SE

Prices from: 29.946 EUR

Recommended version: € 38.601

Despite its small size and low ground clearance, this is a real Land Rover. Elegant, well-finished and comfortable, it is very manoeuvrable in rough terrain and does not neglect turns: a great compromise. It is available with two engines: a 3.2 petrol and a milder 2.2 diesel with 150 hp. (but there is also a 4hp SD190 version). All models are equipped with an automatic all-wheel drive system, and thanks to the sophisticated Terrain Response system, torque distribution and power can be changed depending on the type of roadway.

LAND ROVER DISCOVERY

3.0 TDV6SE

Prices from: 46.551 EUR

Recommended version: € 49.901

With seven seats, this is the most suitable Land for family vacations. He has considerable dimensions and a very spacious interior. The road behavior is excellent, but also protects well off-road.

LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT

3.0 TDV6 245 l. С. HSE

Prices from: 64.501 EUR

Recommended version: € 69.501

It is a real "flagship" of SUVs and is available in two versions: one with a "classic" body, imposing and equipped with very powerful engines, the other - Sport (photo). More compact, the latter features a streamlined design and significantly more dynamic handling. Like a real Land Rover, it's unstoppable on any terrain, but offers the comfort of a luxury sedan (including adjustable suspension). All models are obviously equipped with permanent 4WD and a sequential automatic transmission with downshifts. There is no shortage of rich standard equipment, but given the price ...

LEXUS RX

450h 302 CV Ambassador

Prices from: 53.401 EUR

Recommended version: € 65.701

Quiet and comfortable, it is more suited to the road than unpaved roads. It offers numerous technological elements, among which the 450-horsepower hybrid engine stands out, which is economical compared to the performance provided.

MAZDA CX-7

2.2 CD 173 HP Sport Tourer

Prices from: 30.141 EUR

Recommended version: € 36.401

The slender crossover line, impressive dimensions and rounded wheel arches give it an aggressive and striking look. On the road, it confirms its sporty character: between corners it is fast and accurate, but also does not hesitate to take some off-road excursions. There is no shortage of space on board and the cockpit is well finished. The trunk is also great, spacious and well-shaped. Two engines are available: petrol turbocharged 2.3 with 260 hp. and a turbo diesel 2.2 with a capacity of 173 hp. Both are equipped with permanent all-wheel drive, but the turbodiesel has significantly lower prices and fuel consumption.

Mercedes GLK

220 CDI 170 HP BlueEfficiency 4MATIC Sport

Prices from: 35.141 EUR

Recommended version: € 41.951

I wanted to hit with a square and decisive line, but I didn’t “break through”. However, the small size makes it a worthy alternative to the "regular" midsize sedans. In fact, there is plenty of space on board (even if the trunk is not the largest in the category), and the comfort and finish are like a real Mercedes. There are many options: for the less adventurous, a 2.2 CDI (170 hp) with rear-wheel drive is available. The 4Matic (all-wheel-drive) range is more articulated, with petrol and diesel engines ranging from 170 to 272 horsepower, while the Offroad Pro Pack lets you tackle SUVs without further ado.

Mercedes ML350

CDI BlueTec 211 HP Sport

Prices from: 56.051 EUR

Recommended version: € 67.401

In terms of habitability and decoration, it is not inferior to the best Zvezda salons. The line, however, while retaining a certain elegance, is much more aggressive and effective. Driving on the road is always safe, even if it is not a sporty style, and precise soundproofing and excellent suspension calibration ensure excellent levels of comfort. If desired, thanks to the all-wheel drive and high ground clearance, it can also be used on dirt roads. Not only that: the most demanding can look forward to the OffRoad Pro package, which offers many features and add-ons for off-road use.

Mercedes GL

450 CDI 306 CV Sport 4MATIC

Prices from: 76.381 EUR

Recommended version: € 97.771

According to Mercedes, this is the ultimate expression of an SUV: it is oversized (509 cm in length), but at the same time there is enough room for seven passengers. You are traveling in first class, but each seat costs at least € 11.000.

MINI COUNTRIMAN

1.6 184 HP C. Cooper S ALL4

Prices from: 21.151 EUR

Recommended version: € 29.101

The design unmistakably matches the Mini, but for the first time there are five doors. Grew up in size: the Countryman is longer and taller than any other Mini. Thus, the passenger compartment is very spacious and can accommodate four or five passengers (depending on the configuration chosen for the rear seats), without compromising the modest luggage compartment. On the road, it confirms the dynamic qualities of its younger brothers, but thanks to the increased suspension and all-wheel drive version ALL4, it easily overcomes even light off-road conditions.

MITSUBISHI ASX

1.8d 150 CV Cleartec Invite 4WD

Prices from: 19.101 EUR

Recommended version: € 25.451

Stylistically, it echoes the same elements of the Outlander's big sister and the "very bad" Lancer EVO. However, due to its smaller size, it is also suitable for city dwellers. The interior is spacious, as is the trunk, but the trim isn't entirely convincing. The range of engines is also a bit poor, which includes only one gasoline and one turbodiesel (very low consumption). Both options are available with both front-wheel drive and switchable all-wheel drive. Low ground clearance suggests the former, but 4WD doesn't cost much more and can't be stopped in the snow.

MITSUBISHI OUTLANDER

2.2 DI-D 156 CV Intensive TC-SST

Prices from: 32.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 34.101

It is an SUV built for asphalt, but it is also capable of tackling undemanding off-roading. It has a spacious and comfortable interior, up to seven seats, but the city has important dimensions.

MITSUBISHI PAJERO METAL TOP

3.2 DI-D 200 CV Intensive

Prices from: 35.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 38.651

It remains one of the last (real) SUVs to be equipped with low gears and a rear differential lock as standard. Thanks to these characteristics and high ground clearance, it has few competitors on rough terrain. Traditionally, it is available in two body styles: a three-door Metal Top and a family wagon with five doors and seven seats. The trim is very important and designed to last: it reflects the adventurous character of the car, which still offers plenty of space on board (not the trunk of the short version).

NISSAN JUK

1.5 dCi 110 hp Acenta

Prices from: 16.641 EUR

Recommended version: € 20.091

It has an original and captivating design reminiscent of cars from Japanese comics. The most striking shape of the headlights and the increased size of the wheel arches. It is compact on the outside, but the interior is not very spacious, especially for those who sit in the back, and besides, the plastic used for the interior is not the most sophisticated. It was not born off-road: all-wheel drive is only available in a sportier version, equipped with a 1.6 hp turbo petrol engine. For the more economical, a 190 hp turbodiesel is available. power 1.5: it has good performance and low fuel consumption.

NISSAN KASHKAY

1.5 dCi 103 hp Acenta

Prices from: 19.051 EUR

Recommended version: € 23.701

The best-selling crossover in Italy holds the keys to success in a modern lineup and a great value for money. Numerous versions are also available: with or without all-wheel drive, as well as in a 7-seater version, suitable for large families. The interior is pleasant and well finished, even if the dashboard design is a bit dated. Considering poor off-road skills (low ground clearance), only select the 4x4 version if you need to use it in the mountains, otherwise it is better to choose the (cheaper) version with four-wheel drive.

NISSAN X-TRAIL

2.0 dCi 150 hp SE

Prices from: 29.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 31.251

464cm in length, compared to the Qashqai, it has higher comfort and better off-road performance while maintaining very good comfort. Affordable price list, complete set.

NISSAN MURANO

2.5 dCi 190 hp Acenta

Prices from: 42.751 EUR

Recommended version: € 42.751

This is a maxi crossover with a sporty line. It has a well-finished and spacious interior, even if the trunk is not very large. Instead, the standard equipment is very interesting and competitive.

NISSAN PATHFINDER

3.0 V6 dCi 231 hp LE

Prices from: 36.126 EUR

Recommended version: € 50.951

Despite the impressions, it has no unusual dimensions: 481 cm in length. However, the cockpit is very spacious and comfortable. Off-road? Respect Nissan's finest traditions.

OPEL ANTARA

2.0 CDTI 150 l.с. Cosmo

Prices from: 23.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 31.451

It comes from the Chevrolet Captiva, but is slightly smaller and less attractive in design. Road behavior is excellent; limited off-road ambitions.

PEUGEOT 4007

2.2 HDi 156 hp DSC Tecno

Prices from: 33.051 EUR

Recommended version: € 34.401

Compared to the Citroën CCrosser and Mitsubishi Outlander twins, it has a more individual front end design. On the other hand, the dimensions and ride comfort do not change, as well as the excellent behavior on the road.

PORSCHE CAYENNE S

4.8 400 h.p. Tiptronic S

Prices from: 58.536 EUR

Recommended version: € 75.876

It is par excellence a sports utility vehicle: its sleek and modern lines deliver invigorating dynamics on the road. Thus, thanks to important measures, it also has a high habitability. Oblique tail: body capacity not at the top.

SKODA YETI

1.6 TDI 105 hp CR Adventure Greenline

Prices from: 18.981 EUR

Recommended version: € 23.351

It's a compact SUV, but it offers roominess and payload worthy of versatile space. Thanks to its compact size, it is very maneuverable in city traffic, but at the same time it does not disdain some trips out of town: the suspension calibration guarantees unmistakable stability and moderate ride comfort. It is very interesting to have engines, all produced by VW, with a capacity of 105 to 170 hp. The more powerful (but also more expensive) versions are paired with all-wheel drive with Haldex clutch, which is useful on snowy roads, not off-road.

SSANGYONG NEW CORANDO

2.0 e-Xdi Cool 2WD

Prices from: 22.141 EUR

Recommended version: € 24.141

Completely redesigned, the Korando arrived in Italy at the end of 2010. Italian design born of the Giugiaro pencil and you can see it! Compared to the previous model, it has a more attractive and modern line and is also equipped with a five-door body. The dimensions have increased, but the car remains quite compact, while providing good habitability and excellent carrying capacity. Driving comfort is also high: the new Korando looks more like a crossover and is slightly less off-road, so you can choose between a two- or four-wheel drive version, depending on your needs.

SSANGYONG ACTION

2.0 XDi 141 CV Style 4WD

Prices from: 22.101 EUR

Recommended version: € 26.301

It is a 4x4 with a very original tail section, which, however, significantly limits the capacity of the luggage compartment. It has decent road behavior and, thanks to the all-wheel drive and low-speed drive, it can have its say even in difficult off-road conditions.

SSANGYONG KYRON

2.7 XDi 165 HP Energy AWD automatic

Prices from: 25.651 EUR

Recommended version: € 33.601

It has a spacious (though not luxurious) cabin and record-breaking trunk, perfect for family vacations. It is comfortable on the road, but satisfactory performance and handling is not expected: the engines and tuning do not allow this.

SSANGYONG REXTON

2.7 XVT 186 CV Е.

Prices from: 30.101 EUR

Recommended version: € 35.851

It offers the comfort and habitability of a family-friendly SUV, does not hold back if there is dirt, especially in the 2.7 XDi TOD. The all-wheel drive version is more maneuverable and good on the road, its power is 4 hp.

SUBARU FORESTER

2.0D 147 CV X Comfort

Prices from: 29.331 EUR

Recommended version: € 31.841

Like almost all models of the Japanese house, it has permanent four-wheel drive and 4-cylinder boxer engines. These are a 2.0 hp 150 petrol engine, also running on dual petrol and LPG, and a 2.0 hp 150 diesel engine. The power is not exaggerated, but it is enough to have excellent performance and, at least with a turbodiesel, to reduce consumption. On the road, it's nimble and fun, but it's also very comfortable on light SUVs. Too bad low gears are the exception to (rather thirsty) petrol and dual-fuel engines.

SUBARU TRIBECA

3.6 258 CV BG

Prices from: 55.501 EUR

Recommended version: € 55.501

This is Subaru's first maxi-SUV and given its limited commercial success, it could be the last. It has an unlikely 3,6-liter gasoline engine and 258 horsepower: modest performance, high fuel consumption.

SUZUKI SX4

2.0 DDiS 135 CV Outer line GLX 4WD

Prices from: 16.141 EUR

Recommended version: € 22.841

He shares project and design with the Fiat Sedici. On the road, it's safe and comfortable, and the 4WD versions work well even on undemanding dirt roads. The ratio between equipment and prices is favorable.

SUZUKI GRAND VITARA

1.9 DDiS 129 CV Offroad 3 doors

Prices from: 22.951 EUR

Recommended version: € 26.701

This is the flagship model of the Suzuki range, an SUV with a modern, elegant line, available in two body styles: compact three-door or family. The first is small in size, ideal for both the city and the winding mountain trails. The second is more voluminous, but with good lifting capacity and a very spacious cabin. All versions have four-wheel drive and, with the exception of the 1.6 petrol engine, also have a reduced gear ratio, characteristics that make it easy to overcome even the most difficult off-road conditions.

TATA SAFARI

2.2 140 CV Die-cast 4WD

Prices from: 22.631 EUR

Recommended version: € 22.631

It doesn't pay much attention to looks, the line is outdated for years, but it is in off-road driving that it offers the best: with a raised suspension, low gears and four-wheel drive, it is not afraid of any obstacles. Kind. Driving performance and comfort are limited, consumption is not the lowest: 13 km / l.

TOYOTA CITY CRUISER

1.4 D-4D 90 CV AWD Left

Prices from: 17.451 EUR

Recommended version: € 23.101

It is about the size of a small car (or slightly larger), but plays the role of an SUV. It has tight and angular lines that give it an unpleasant look, and in the 1.4 turbo diesel version it has an electronically controlled all-wheel drive with automatic engagement. Its low ground clearance makes it unsuitable for off-road vehicles, it is better to take advantage of its great maneuverability to dodge city traffic. The interior is spacious and comfortable, but the trim is poor (especially for a car worth around € 20.000) and the dashboard design is decidedly nondescript and outdated.

TOYOTA LAND CRUISER

3.0 D4-D 190 CV 3 pcs.

Prices from: 43.451 EUR

Recommended version: € 43.451

A true off-roader with a limited-slip differential and a reduced size, but with a smooth finish that also makes it nice and comfortable. Two body options are available: 3-door and 5-door station wagon.

VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN

2.0 TDI 140 л.с. Trend & Fun BlueMotion

Prices from: 25.626 EUR

Recommended version: € 28.051

The city's dimensions make it a viable alternative to classic compact sedans, so much so that BlueMotion models are only available with front-wheel drive. For white weekend enthusiasts, it's also available with all-wheel drive or for the more adventurous Track & Field, equipped with dedicated under-engine shields, redesigned high-angle bumpers and high-shoulder tires. The line is substantial but successful; The interiors are of excellent quality to accommodate up to five adults without compromising on luggage space.

VOLKSWAGEN TUAREG

3.0 TDI 239 hp Tiptronic BlueMotion Techn.

Prices from: 50.151 EUR

Recommended version: € 50.151

The all-new Wolfsburg SUV has an increasingly street-minded soul, but doesn't give up on permanent all-wheel drive. All engines, two turbodiesel and one hybrid, are mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission, and on the "base" 3.0 V6 TDI you can get (for a fee) the Terrain Tech package: it includes downshifts and a torque divider designed for 'off-road. The abbreviation BlueMotion indicates that it is equipped with a braking energy recovery system. The price list is very expensive, and the standard equipment needs to be replenished: the final bill runs the risk of becoming very salty.

VOLVO XC60

2.4 D3 163 hp AWD Geartronic Kinetic

Prices from: 37.001 EUR

Recommended version: € 41.551

Despite the streamlined and young line, the dimensions are quite demanding, even if not exaggerated. The cockpit is well finished and easily accommodates up to five adults without sacrificing luggage space. It is not suitable for off-road use, the ground clearance is reduced and the suspension is tuned for comfort. However, you can choose between versions with all-wheel drive or with only two drive wheels, depending on your needs. However, if the wallet allows, it is better to aim for a 4 × 4, perhaps in conjunction with the practical Geartronic gearbox.

VOLVO XC90

2.4 D5 200 hp Polar Plus Geartronic AWD

Prices from: 42.801 EUR

Recommended version: € 51.501

Comfortable and spacious, as in the traditions of the Swedish manufacturer, it has a strong traveler disposition, but at the same time overcomes light off-road with sufficient ease. Beware of Devaluation: Outdated Draft.
