Volkswagen will bring Arteon to Russia

Liftback Arteon received certification in Russia. Recall that this is a big "five-door" from the German automaker, which was presented to the public in 2017. However, the form factor was not approved by Rosstandart, so motorists from the Russian Federation had to wait for the novelty to appear on the local market.

It was expected that the Russians will be able to purchase Arteon in 2019, but the certification procedure was delayed. The permit will enter into force on December 27, and the car will appear in Russian motor shows in 2020. Cars will be delivered from Germany.

Cars with “turbo four” 2.0 will be sold in Russia. There are two power options to choose from: 190 and 280 hp. A simpler model must be refueled with brand 95 gasoline, and an improved one - 98. The motor works in combination with the 7-DSG. In the description of the car that will be delivered to the Russian market, the following functionality appears: ERA-GLONASS, climate control, traction control, pressure detection and parking assistance systems, sunroof and adaptive cruise control.

In the line of the German manufacturer, this model is higher than the Passat. The restyled Passat has a price tag of 31 euros, while the Arteon model will cost the buyer 930 euros.

In 2020, the company should conduct a presentation of the Arteon car in the “universal” version, but this variation is most likely not to be available on the market of the post-Soviet countries.
