A timeline has been set for the debut of the Aurus Komendant.

The premiere of the pre-production prototype of the Russian luxury SUV has been postponed for a year. The pre-production prototype of the SUV of the Russian luxury brand Aurus - Komendant will be presented in the fall of 2021. This is reported by TASS with reference to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

“Serial production of the Komendant should start in 2022. Objectively, we will be able to show a pre-production sample next fall, so we will start production in March-April 2022,” Manturov explained.

At the same time, it was previously assumed that the Aurus Komendant SUV would be presented in September 2020 at the Moscow International Motor Show, which was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, patent images of Aurus Komendant were disclosed in the open database of Rosstandart. Judging by the sketches, the SUV will retain the basic proportions of test prototypes that were previously observed during road tests in different parts of Russia and Europe.

Like the Senat sedan, the SUV will be equipped with a hybrid power plant based on a 4,4-liter turbo engine, paired with an electric motor and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The total power of the units is 600 hp.
