Opel has been designing and manufacturing their light vans in partnership with Renault for many years, but they have a relatively large number of customers who appreciate their range of vans, so they build them in their own factory (Renault Trafice in their own facility and the same . for Nissan). British brand Vauxhall is helping Opel in appropriate numbers (nearly 800 units since the start of the new millennium) and the factory is located in Luton, England. They began to compete with richly equipped versions for personal use some time ago, but it is likely that Opel also realized that customers should not be neglected, and therefore the Vivaro Tourer was created. It's made to an established recipe: add as many of the accessories you use to equip conventional passenger cars into such a spaciously luxurious van.

Ours has been extended even further, with a longer wheelbase, hence the designation L2H1, meaning second wheelbase and lowest height (suggested by a van). It is suitable for traveling with large families or groups, and when used in this way, the Vivaro Tourer really proves its luxury already mentioned in the name - space. The usability of the seats in the second and third rows is really good, although you first need to get used to the different possibilities for adjusting, moving and rotating the two seats in the second row. This is being used more and more in commercial vehicles, and the adjustment is not as easy as in passenger cars, but for good reason: the seats are solid and, at least in appearance, are also safe. The choice of the place of attachment of the child seat (of course, with the Isofix system) is wide.

Thus, we still have answers to two important questions for these types of cars: is the engine powerful enough, even if it has a displacement of only 1,6 liters, and whether "accessories" from cars are really much more expensive than if would you choose the basic "freight" model.

The answer to the first question is twofold: an engine is powerful enough when it starts fast enough, but we always have to be careful when using the clutch and accelerator pedal when starting or moving slowly. This means that we will inadvertently choke the engine a few times, mostly the start-stop system helps start, but not always ... The “turbo hole” is quite noticeable on such a very “wound up” engine. In this regard, we also evaluate the efficiency of the engine - although with careful driving you can achieve a fairly low consumption (7,2 in the standard Autoshop circle), in fact it is much higher. Consumption may increase when reaching the permitted speeds during a longer motorway trip (less than ten liters on average), but this is still acceptable compared to a completely satisfactory engine performance.

The list of equipment we got in this Opel with the Tourer label is long and not to mention everything, but only a few: it has electronic air conditioning in the front of the cab and manually adjustable at the rear, two sliding doors with sliding glass, tinted glass behind parts of the driver's and front passenger's cabins, central locking. With an add-on package that also included an infotainment system with a navigation device and a blue-toothed connection, as well as folding and swivel seats in the second row, cast iron wheels, parking assistant with reversing camera, the final price below the line is further increased by a poor six thousand ...

It is clear that the price if we want to transfer all the useful equipment from a passenger car to a regular van, it rises sharply.

However, with the Vivaro tested, it seems that what they offer is still quite acceptable in the price range, as they offer a lot for a little over 40 thousand.

It is also true that the real oploc is a little disappointed with the infotainment software, as it was brought in by Renault in a joint project. Buyers also take into account the fact that this long-wheelbase Vivaro, for all its spaciousness, is also 40 centimeters longer than usual. If you may need more maneuverability (easier parking), then the XNUMXm body option is also a good choice.
