The modern Ford Mustang GT is the best version at the moment. The car offers power, handling, comfort and style in one package that not everyone can afford.

The updated version is presented as a coupe or convertible, Mustang pleases with a variety of models. The base version is the expressive Ford Mustang GT, which will impress with a 8-horsepower V466 engine. The decoration was the limited edition Shelby GT350 with 526 horses under the hood. That's more than enough to keep up with the Chevy Camaro SS, Dodge Challenger R/T and even the BMW 4 Series.

Appearance Mustang - a combination of old and new elements. Adding to the modernity are improved aerodynamics, larger wheels and tires and, on EcoBoost models, active grille shutters. The length of the car reaches 4784 mm, width - 1916 mm. (which with mirrors almost reaches 2,1 meters), with a high point of 1381 mm.

The highly angled front and rear windshields allow the aerofoil to create the desired wedge shape while the cab is "pushed" back. Looking ahead, you see a modern interpretation of the shark jaw characteristic, which forms large air intakes suitable for cooling mechanical parts. 

In terms of safety, the Mustang did not pass the Euro NCAP crash tests, where it was rated Acceptable.

Interior

Opening the door reveals the large Recaro bucket seats. Before you start the engine, you will see in front of you a "full" and bulky center console, "stuffed" with all the essentials: a large on-board computer screen that displays all the necessary information. An epic highlight is the 'Ground Speed' lettering on the speedometer.

The dashboard design has some elements from the 60s Mustang. 8-inch touch screen includes infotainment system SYNC 2 from Focus. In the default setting, the screen is divided into 4 parts, each of which controls the radio, mobile phone, air conditioning and navigation system. The steering wheel has a suitable diameter, thickness. In terms of quality, the materials used are simply acceptable.

The soft plastic from which the bulk of the dashboard is made doesn't look cheap. Likewise, the plastic is at the base of the console. In terms of space, despite its size, the Mustang is characterized by 2 + 2. The driver and the person next to him will feel comfortable and comfortable. Speaking of other passengers, the rear seats are smaller, but this does not mean that they will not be comfortable while driving.

Finally, a big plus for the luggage compartment with dimensions of 332 liters. The manufacturer notes that it can accommodate two golf bags, but reviews from the owners inform that it can also fit a suitcase with things for travel.

Engine

The base, so to speak, is the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost turbo engine with 314 horsepower and 475 Nm. It is equipped with a standard six-speed manual gearbox. Acceleration Ford Mustang occurs in 5.0 seconds. Fuel consumption is at 11.0 l / 100km in urban, 7.7 l / 100km in suburban and 9.5 l / 100km in mixed cycles. With the optional ten-speed automatic transmission, performance is barely changing.

GT models are offered with a 5.0-liter V8 engine at 466 horsepower and 570 Nm. The standard gearbox, as in the first case, is a six-speed manual. This Mustang spends 15.5 l / 100km in the city, 9.5 l / 100km outside and 12.8 l / 100km on average. With an automatic transmission, performance is reduced to 15.1, 9.3 and 12.5 l / 100km, respectively. All models have rear-wheel drive.

How does it go?

Drive in a Ford Mustang GT car with a ten-speed automatic transmission, you most likely will not want to return to the mechanics. Meanwhile, the Mustang GT's six-speed manual has now been paired with Rev matching technology, which guarantees excellent sports transitions.
