Skoda has unveiled the design of the new crossover

Skoda has released new images of the Enyaq crossover, which will be the Czech brand's first all-electric SUV. The exterior of the new model will receive features of the Vision iV concept car, as well as the Karoq and Kodiaq series.

Judging by the photos, the electric car will receive a "closed" radiator grille, short overhangs, narrow lights and small air intakes in the front bumper to cool the brakes. Drag coefficient 0,27.

As for the overall dimensions of Enyaq, the company said that they will be "different from the previous SUVs of the brand." The luggage compartment of the electric vehicle will be 585 liters. The interior will be equipped with a digital instrument panel, a two-spoke steering wheel and a 13-inch display for the multimedia system. Skoda promises that passengers in the rear of the crossover will get extremely large legroom.

The Skoda Enyaq will be built on the MEB modular architecture developed by Volkswagen specifically for the new generation of electric vehicles. The car will share the main components and assemblies with the Volkswagen ID.4 coupe-crossover.

The Enyaq will be available with rear wheel drive and dual transmission. The company has confirmed that the top-end version of the Enyaq will be able to travel about 500 kilometers on a single charge. The premiere of the new car will take place on September 1, 2020. Car sales will begin next year. The main competitors of the car will be electric Hyundai Kona and Kia e-Niro.

In total, Skoda intends to release up to 2025 new models by 10, which will receive an all-electric or hybrid electric system. In five years, such cars will account for up to 25% of all sales of the Czech brand.
