Seat Ibiza 1.2 TSI Style

A good gasoline engine can weigh a lot. Lower maintenance costs and a lower base purchase price are absolute arguments that keep us from waving our hands and looking away. The base Ibiza Loco costs 11.299 euros with Style equipment, and what we had in the test, but without accessories, costs 12.804 euros.

For the money, you get a solid, roomy little car that will satisfy the needs of even small families. The spaciousness of the front and rear seats is really surprising. Well, a family of five will be a little cramped, but two adults and two children can be easily transported even very far, and the muscles will not harden. We believe it also has a solidly large trunk and a rear bench that can be folded down a third that can be folded (folded) into a completely horizontal position. With a full tank of fuel, you can drive from 550 to 650 kilometers.

The consumption is not excessive, you can calculate that it will range from six to seven liters per 100 kilometers, depending on the weight of your leg and the road you are driving on. On daily commutes to work, including highway and city driving, the average test stopped at 6,6 liters. However, on a normal lap, the consumption dropped slightly and stopped at around 6,4 liters. The maximum consumption measured was 7,4 liters, but it also hides a slightly more dynamic ride, which is surprisingly nice for this Ibiza. The car successfully complements its dynamic lines and modern fashion accessories with an engine that impressed us with its flexibility.

It wakes up quickly at low revs and offers acceleration already very close to those of the turbo diesel versions. The reason for this lies in the perfectly decent torque (160 Nm) for this displacement, which is between 1.400 and 3.500 rpm. The four-cylinder does not accelerate from power as it is capable of 90 "horsepower", but this is great proof that for dynamic driving, more than power means good torque. Where is the party girl from the title hiding from all this? It goes without saying that Ibiza was and remains an island for young people craving the wildest entertainment. In addition to the name, there is also a party in the interior or, more precisely, in the entertainment system, as music plays from a high-quality audio system, and we liked all the gadgets that entertain while driving and help you to get to your destination in a more relaxed way.

evaluation

  • The dynamic and modern exterior calms down a bit when we sit down in the slightly barren interior, but the dynamics shows up as soon as we leave. The petrol engine, which doesn't look muscular on paper, impresses with its torque, flexibility and day-to-day comfort.
