Seat Ibiza 1.4 (51 kW) Link

As a result, cars are becoming more sporty and dynamic, which, depending on the engine installed, also complements the look with performance.

At Seat, the small Ibiza brand is a good example of this restructuring. According to her, the car, which was average before the renovation, has a more dynamic exterior. With its help, they want to attract new, especially young customers seeking beautiful cars that also boast good driving characteristics. They were already in Ibiza before the refurbishment, and after that with an aggressive front bumper in the color of the car, new taillights and a modified rear bumper, they added an aggressive appeal.

It is true, however, that it was equipped with an entry-level turbodiesel chopper in the test car, which has only 51 kW (70 hp), which is nowhere near enough for real sports adventures on the open roads, but more than enough for city driving. ... The engine has characteristics such as loud operation, almost imperceptible cold preheating time and good flexibility above 2.000 rpm.

Below this limit, the engine, like many turbodiesels on the market, is practically useless, which means that more frequent use of the gear lever is inevitable. In principle, this cannot be considered a disadvantage, since the gearbox is easy to use, and its gear lever serves for short, and, if necessary, very fast movements.

Thanks to the moderately powerful engine, the chassis is also more than excellent. We consider the steering mechanism a minus, only a little worse feedback, and that's it. The car follows the intended trajectory well through the turns, responds well to the driver's commands, and on the other hand, the suspension intercepts most of the road bumps effectively enough so as not to tirelessly gain kilometers.

In short: with all the good features it had before, the Seat Ibiza got exactly what it lacked the most when it was updated - a pleasant image, which is one of the first conditions in the process of building the image of a sports brand.
