Now the BMW 8 Series is a fashion coupe whose sales put the two-door S-Class in a bad spot. However, things were different in the 90s. Prototype M8

In 2010, BMW unveiled a secret M8 prototype designed in the 1990s to compete with Ferrari. The old engine has been replaced with a 6-liter V12 (S70 / 1), which is the sibling of the McLaren F1 engine. The rear seats were dropped, the doors and fenders were made of carbon fiber, and the M8 began to weigh 1443 kg. It even lacks retractable headlights! Combined with 550 horsepower and a manual transmission, the coupe can accelerate to 320 km / h ... but the project was stopped. There is simply no one to sell. Instead of the roads of Monaco, the M8 went into storage, where it lay for 20 years.
