Kia Seltos Crash Test Results
In early 2020, the new Kia Seltos will enter the Russian market. At the moment, the model is undergoing crash tests in the ANCAP laboratory. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the intermediate test results.
Interestingly, this model has not yet participated in tests of this kind. ANCAP - debut for Seltos. The result was great: five stars. The final decision of the commission was influenced by the AEB system (automatic braking in an emergency).
Despite a decent assessment, deficiencies were nevertheless identified. With a frontal impact at a speed of 64 km / h, the barrier bends. Particularly severe deformation occurs in the area of the driver’s right foot. This zone has received a brown hazard level.
Another weak area is the back seat. If a 10-year-old child is placed on it, the load on impact will lead to fractures.
When hitting the front at a speed of 50 km / h, flaws were also identified. An adult passenger sitting in the back seat may be fatally injured in the pelvis.
With a side impact, the driver risks fractures in the chest area. Unsatisfactory results were demonstrated by the rear head restraints: they create a danger in a collision.
Where does the car get such a high rating from so many flaws? The fact is that ANCAP focuses on active safety systems, not passive ones, and Kia Seltos is ok with this parameter.
