Extended test: Peugeot 308 Allure 1.2 PureTech 130 EAT6

With the latest update, the Peugeot 308 is certainly a fresher and more enjoyable car, but on the other hand, unfortunately, it does not contain everything Peugeot knows. First of all, we think about the interior.

Peugeot started with a new i-Cockpit layout in 2012. The French say their interior design is successful, as more than a million customers have already chosen it. On the one hand, this is true, but on the other, of course, it is not, since the clients did not have the opportunity to make a different decision and choose the old, classic interior design. Otherwise it sounds strange, I wonder why old? Mainly because the new Peugeot has robbed some of the drivers. We thought it was good that they reduced the number of buttons, but they did it too radically and removed almost all of the buttons. At the same time, they downsized the steering wheel and put it in a new position, too low for some taller drivers. Many people were pleased to drive a Peugeot, but not others.

And the fact that everything is not really perfect is evidenced by the latest generation i-Cockpit, presented in the new 3008. With it, Peugeot brought back a few buttons, right below the center screen, which, incidentally, is much better. , more responsive and beautiful graphics. We also changed the steering wheel. The previous one had an undercut only on the bottom side, the new one also cut off at the top. This angered some drivers again, but at the same time gave everyone else a better view of the sensors. In any case, this is the best side of the new interior. Transparent, cute and digital.

Therefore, the updated 308 to perfection, at least in my opinion, is missing something. On the other hand, anyone who has not yet experienced all the innovations will be very happy with the current device. Which is, in the end, the most important thing. Everything else follows fashion trends, including the engine and transmission, making this, although "just a redesigned" 308, certainly an interesting competitor in its class.
