If you have been buying a used Suzuki vehicle, you can check the vehicles through their certified used car program. Many manufacturers have a Certified Used Car Program (CPO) and each is set up differently. Read on to learn about the features of the Suzuki CPO program.

To qualify for the CPO program, all Suzuki vehicles must be under five years old and have less than 70,000 miles on them.

Inspection

To ensure that all certified used vehicles are safe to drive, Suzuki subjects all CPO vehicles to a 144-point test that includes the following areas or procedures:

  • History of the car
  • Equipment check
  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Security Components
  • Mechanical components
  • Internal and external
  • Elements of comfort and convenience

Warranty

Suzuki CPO vehicles are covered by the remainder of the original limited new vehicle warranty in addition to the base certified pre-owned vehicle warranty. This warranty covers vehicle repairs within 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty does not require a franchise.

The guarantee also includes roadside assistance and reimbursement for car rental costs. For more information on reimbursement amounts and roadside assistance specifics, please contact your Authorized Certified Suzuki Used Car Dealer.

Prices

Buying a certified used Suzuki vehicle instead of a used car can affect the price at most dealerships. Net profit will typically be about 15% higher than a typical "used" car.

For example, at the time of this writing in April 2016, a used 2012 Suzuki SX4 SX had a Kelly Blue Book value of $6,018; the same car in the Suzuki CPO program costs about $6,912.

Compare Suzuki to other certified used car programs.

Whether or not you choose to use a CPO vehicle, it is always wise to have any used vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing it. A certified used car does not mean that the car is in perfect condition, and any used car can have serious problems that are not visible to the untrained eye. If you're in the market to buy a used car, schedule a pre-purchase inspection for complete peace of mind.
