Genesis's first electric car gets Tesla-like technology

The luxury brand Genesis, which is part of the Korean concern Hyundai Group, is preparing the premiere of its first electric car, the eG80. It will be a sedan equipped with technology used by the leader in electric vehicle manufacturers, Tesla.

A Hyundai spokesman commented to the Korean agency Al that the concern will equip its models with software that can be updated over the air, which will not only eliminate errors in the old version, but also increase power, increase the autonomy of power generation and modernize unmanned transport systems.

The main task of Hyundai developers is to ensure that the new remote update technology is fully protected. Most software updates will be performed without human intervention.

According to the available information, the Genesis eG80 is based on Hyundai's modular platform for electric vehicles, due to which the technical equipment of the model will differ significantly from the filling of the "regular" G80 sedan. The range of the electric vehicle with a single battery charge will be 500 km, and the eG80 will also receive a third level autopilot system.

Following the debut of the Genesis eG80, the wireless upgrade technology will also appear in other Hyundai Group electric vehicles. The electric sedan is slated to premiere in 2022, and the Korean auto giant plans to launch 2025 new electric models by 14.
