2 years of experience with Jonnesway tools

Today I decided to write an article about my tool, more precisely about one set that is present in my garage. I think that many have noticed that for the most part I repair or disassemble cars with keys from two manufacturers: Ombra and Jonnesway. I wrote about the first brand, and talked a lot about Ombra kits and accessories, but nothing specific has been said about Jonnesway yet. So, I decided to describe in more detail the set, which consists of 101 items, and it has been serving me for 2 years already.

The photo was specially made in a spread so that it was clearly visible what exactly is present in this rather large suitcase.

So now for more details. The set itself is in the case and even with good shaking, the keys and heads sit in their places and do not fall out. The heads are available in a variety of sizes, ranging from 4 mm to 32 mm. Also, for owners of new domestic cars, such as Kalina, Granta or Priora, there are special heads with a TORX profile. They are made in the shape of an asterisk. For example, on 8-valve engines, the cylinder head is tightened with such bolts, and in the cabin they can be seen at the attachment point of the front seats.

Sets of hex and torx bits are also quite necessary things, since there are many such profiles in any car. All this is put on the bit holder using an adapter. There are ratchets to the heads: large and small, as well as wrenches and various extensions.

As for the keys: the set contains combined ones from 8 to 24 mm, that is, they are enough for 90% of car repairs. Screwdrivers are quite strong, two Phillips and the same number with a flat blade. The tips are magnetized so screws and small bolts won't fall off. There is a very good thing - a magnetic handle, with which you can get any bolt or nut that has fallen under the hood or under the car. The power of the magnet is enough even to lift the largest key in the set.

Now with regards to the quality of the instrument. I've been using it hard for the past two years - I take apart several cars a month for spare parts. And sometimes you have to rip off such bolts that have not been unscrewed for decades. The bolts break, and on the keys, even the edges did not stick together during this time. The heads are practically not killed, as they are made with thick walls, even such sizes as 10 and 12 mm.

Of course, it is advisable not to rip anything with ratchets, since the mechanism is not designed for great efforts, but several times it was necessary to do this out of stupidity. A force of more than 50 Newtons can easily withstand. In general, what I didn’t do with them, and as soon as I didn’t mock them, I didn’t manage to break or even damage anything. If you are ready to pay 7500 rubles for such a set, then you will be 100% satisfied with the quality, since such keys are often used in professional car services.
