Closer does not work - what is the reason?

The reason is that the commands to the window regulator mechanism are given by power window control unit... When disconnecting the battery terminals, the settings of the control unit for the closers are usually reset. Naturally, on each car model, the training of power windows is done differently:

1. Lower the glass completely in non-automatic mode (without pressing the closer keys). After the glass has lowered to the end, immediately press the closer mode and hold for about 5 seconds.
2. Further, similarly for the upper position, raise the glass in non-automatic mode and at the end switch to automatic mode (closer mode) and also hold for 5 seconds.

These manipulations must be done with the window regulator of each door separately. There is a chance that the control unit will not learn the first time, just try again.

Power window training for Ford Focus

1. Raise the window regulator button and hold it until the glass rises completely.
2. Raise the button again and hold it for a couple of seconds (usually 2-4 seconds).
3. Press the window regulator button and hold it until the glass is completely lowered.
4. We release the window regulator button.
5. Lift the power window button, hold it until the glass is fully lifted.
6. Open the window and try to close it automatically (with a single key press).

If, after the actions taken, the window did not close automatically to the end, then repeat the procedure from step 1 again.

COMMENT! On Russian-assembled Ford Focus 2 models, this algorithm works only if all 4 power windows are included in the package. (If only 2 front ones are installed, the algorithm will not work)

If the windows stopped working in auto mode after removing the battery and the button illumination does not light up, but blinks, then the following algorithm will help to cope with this problem.

1. The car must be started or the ignition must be turned on.
2. Press the glass release button and hold until the glass is completely open. After it has opened, hold the button for another 2-4 seconds and release.
3. Similar steps for lifting the glass. After fully raising the glass, hold the button for a few more seconds and release.
4. Similarly for all other power windows, follow steps 2 and 3.

After these actions, the flashing of the backlight should turn into a normal constant backlight and the windows should work in auto mode.
COMMENT! Training of each window regulator must be carried out from the button of the exact door that you are teaching. It is not possible to train all windows from the driver's buttons.

Power window training for Mazda 3

Programming power windows on Mazda 3 is carried out similarly to training on Mercedes, described above in the article. In other words, using the window regulator button for each door (we use that button related to a specific door, not the driver's panel), first completely lower the glass and hold the button for 3-5 seconds, then raise it to the end and also hold it for 3-5 seconds. Done.
