The Mazda automobile company has been around since 1920. During this time, a huge number of vehicles were created. We started with motorcycles and three-wheeled tricycle trucks. Only in 1960 was the first compact car produced, the engine of which was in the trunk, like the Zaporozhets.

The most famous product of the company is the Mazda Familia, this family car was produced from 1963 to 2003 and became the prototype for the more famous compact Mazda 3 model. since the main production was directed to the domestic markets of Japan, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Mazda 5 (Mazda Premacy)

This is probably the most recognizable Mazda compact van in Russia. It is produced to this day, although, unfortunately, it is not officially presented in Russian salons. According to the results of a survey among readers of the famous Russian magazine "Behind the Wheel!" Mazda Five took the first place in readers' sympathy, leaving far behind such models as:

• Ford Grand C-MAX;
• Renault Scenic;
• Peugeot 3008.

In terms of its mass-dimensional characteristics, Five fits into this series quite well.

Mazda Premacy of the first generation was produced in four and 5-seater versions. Landing formula: 2+2 or 2+3. In the second generation, when it was decided to assign the model number 5, an additional row of seats was added. The result is a compact minivan with 7 seats. Ideal vehicle for a large family.

The official name of the second generation is Mazda5 CR. Interestingly, unlike the third generation Mazda5 Type CW (2010-2015), the Mazda5 CR is still in production today.

Among its advantages are:

• equipped with an automatic transmission;
• three types of engines are offered for 1.8 or 2.0 liters with a capacity of 116 and 145 horsepower;
• the presence of all auxiliary systems for driving: ABS, EBD, DSC (dynamic stabilization), TCS (traction control system).

The car is offered with 15 or 16 inch wheels. There are many additional features: rain sensor, climate control, cruise control, multimedia system, fog lights and daytime running lights. In the exclusive version, you can order 17-inch wheels.

If you want to purchase this model, then for a used car produced in 2008-2011, you will have to pay about 650-800 thousand rubles, depending on the condition. The new Pyaterochka will cost about 20-25 US dollars.

Mazda bongo

This model can be called one of the centenarians, as it is still on the assembly line since 1966. In different countries, this minibus is known by different names:

• Mazda E-Series;
• Mazda Access;
• Saved;
• Mazda Marathon.

The latest generation is known under the names: Mazda Bongo Brawny, and a more advanced version - Mazda Friendee. Mazda Friendy largely repeats the characteristics of the Volkswagen Transporter.

This is an 8-seater van that has found wide application. So, a modification of Auto Free Top was created especially for tourists, that is, the roof rises and the number of beds can be increased several times.

The car is distinguished by the presence of powerful engines running on both diesel and gasoline. In 1999, a complete restyling of the technical component was carried out and the line of engines was replenished with a 2,5-liter turbocharged diesel engine.

It is also worth mentioning that such popular models as Mitsubishi Delica, Ford Freda, Nissan Vanette and some others are rebadged, that is, instead of the Mazda nameplate, they attached the emblem of another automobile manufacturer. This is the main evidence of the popularity of this minivan.

You can buy such a car as a family car or a business van for about 200-600 thousand (models of 2000-2011). In the USA, Australia or the same Japan, you can find models of later release years for 5-13 thousand dollars.

Mazda MPV

Another popular model, which has been produced since 1989. It was officially presented in Russia, its cost was 23-32 thousand dollars. Today, you can only buy used cars produced in 2000-2008 for 250-500 thousand rubles.

In the latest version, it was a rather powerful 5-door minivan, designed for 8 seats: 2 + 3 + 3. The rear row of seats can be removed. In the simplest configuration, there was only rear-wheel drive, but at the same time there were all-wheel drive options.

The latest generation (since 2008) has quite attractive characteristics:

• gasoline and turbodiesel engines with a volume of 2.3 liters, 163 or 245 hp;
• as a transmission, a 6-speed automatic or an ordinary 6MKPP is installed;
• rear or all-wheel drive;
• good dynamics - a two-ton car accelerates to 100 km / h in 9,4 seconds.

The car has gained immense popularity in the domestic market, respectively, it is produced with a right-hand drive. Such machines can still be found in Vladivostok today. There are also left-hand drive options for European and American markets. Russian motorists in the 90s praised the Mazda Efini MPV, which has been produced since 1991.

With all the advantages of the car, it is worth noting a significant drawback, which is characteristic of Ford minivans by the way - low ground clearance of only 155 millimeters. For a car with a length of almost 5 meters, this is a very small indicator, due to which the cross-country ability suffers greatly. Accordingly, the car is intended exclusively for movement on good city roads or intercity highways.

Mazda Biante

A popular 8-seater minivan that entered the market in 2008. The car is not sold in Russia, its sales are focused on the countries of South Asia: Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc. The owners note that this car has the most spacious interior in its class. Landing formula - 2 + 3 + 3. Available with both rear and all-wheel drive.

The line includes complete sets with 4 engines:

• three gasoline (AI-95) with a volume of 2 liters and a capacity of 144, 150 and 151 hp;
• 2.3-liter diesel and gasoline (AI-98) for 165 hp

Buyers can choose between four- and five-speed automatic transmissions. A fully equipped car weighs about 1,7 tons. With a body length of 4715 mm, it consumes 8,5 liters of diesel or 9 liters of AI-95 in the city. On the highway, this figure is 6,7-7 liters.

We were interested in the prices for this minivan. A car produced in 2008-2010 will cost the buyer 650-800 thousand rubles. If you buy a brand new car directly from factories in Japan or Malaysia, then you will have to pay at least 30-35 thousand dollars for a complete set with a two-liter gasoline engine.

Mazda Laputa

This car belongs to the so-called Kei Car, that is, these are microvans designed specifically to reduce the amount of transport taxes. The same class can be attributed, for example, Smart ForTwo or Daewoo Matiz. According to our, Russian concepts, this is an ordinary compact A-class hatchback. However, in Japan, these cars are considered microvans.

Mazda Laputa was produced from 2000 to 2006. Its specifications are as follows:

• designed for 4 places;
• 0,7 liter engines produce 60 and 64 horsepower;
• there are modifications with front and all-wheel drive;
• equipped with manual or automatic transmissions.

That is, it is a compact and economical car specifically for moving along narrow city streets. Interestingly, vans and pickups for the delivery of goods were also developed on its basis.

The machine itself is cheap, but in Russia, used models of 2001-2006 can be purchased for 100-200 thousand. All of them are right-hand drive, so they are sold mainly in the Far East.
