In 2019, the production of an homologated version of the MINI Cabrio started. To maintain the overall styling of its vehicles, the British automaker has decided not to make any major changes to any of its models. This approach also affected this model. Matrix elements are now installed in the head optics, and LEDs are used in the taillights. Bumpers and a radiator grill were slightly corrected.

The homologation version of the 2019 MINI Cabrio offers three powertrain modifications. The basic trim levels use 1.2 and 1.5 liter gasoline engines. The top version is equipped with a two-liter engine. For less powerful internal combustion engines, a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-position preselective (two clutches) robot is offered. The most powerful version is aggregated exclusively by a robot.
