The second generation of the MG 6 E-Drive hybrid front-wheel drive liftback has been slightly modified. The novelty was presented at the Guangzhou Motor Show at the end of 2017, and the car went on sale in 2018. The novelty differs from the pre-styling version of the power plant. Of the visual differences - only a slight facelift, reflected in the radiator grille and in another badge at the stern.

The powerplant used in the 6 MG 2018 E-Drive hybrid liftback belongs to the mild hybrid category. The basis is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine equipped with a turbocharger. It is paired with an 83-horsepower electric motor powered by a 9.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery can be recharged both from the recuperation system and from a household outlet. In the second case, the capacity is completely replenished from scratch in 3 hours.
