Mercedes-Benz creates a completely new model range

If you look at the range of all Mercedes-Benz models, you will find that there is a niche for a rear-wheel drive car that will fit between the C-Class and the E-Class. The Stuttgart-based company seems to agree with this as it is developing a model called the CLE that will hit the market in 2023.

Coupe-shaped sedans have the CL index. This means that the new CLE model will be similar to both the CLA and CLS. The car will receive three main body types: coupe, convertible and station wagon. Such a move will allow the company to simplify the process of assembling a car of a new model range. It will replace the current C and E class coupes and convertibles.

The development of the CLE-Class was indirectly confirmed by Markus Schaefer, head of the company's research and development department. According to him, the launch of such a model will simplify production, since it will use ready-made platforms, engines and components.

“We are currently reviewing our lineup, which should be reduced as we have already announced the development and marketing of very clean electric vehicles. There will be major changes in it, as some cars will be thrown out, and new ones will appear in their place, ”-
commented Schaefer.
