Lincoln MKT 2012 relies on two upgraded powertrains. One of them is an aspirated with a V-shaped design of a 6-cylinder block (Duratec) with a volume of 3.7 liters. The second is its turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost counterpart. Engineers made the first engine more powerful and the second more economical.

A 6-position automatic machine is put in a pair for the internal combustion engine. The torque in the base is transmitted to the front wheels, but when ordering a model with a multi-plate clutch, when the main axle slips, the rear axle is turned on.
