Cross-country motorcycles - light weight and high power. Find out which cross bike will become a bestseller!

Many motorcyclists' fascination with motocross bikes began with the memorable game ExciteBike for the Pegasus console. However, cross-country motorcycles have gone beyond the virtual side of the sport and now everyone can try their hand at off-road with such a machine. When you go on a motorcycle adventure, you don't have to empty your wallet either. If you are interested in motocross bikes, what should you know about them?

Motorcycle cross, or what are we talking about?

No lights, starter, direction indicators and footpegs - this is typical for a typical cross. However, you need to remember powerful two- or four-stroke engines, a lightweight frame and brilliant off-road performance. A motocross bike is a proposition for the determined motorcyclist who understands that this type of two-wheeler will not legally take to the streets. In the offer of sellers there are instances with small engines (50 cc). However, XNUMXx displacement models are selected for sport and high performance applications.

Cross - motorcycles for experienced

Considering the fact that cross bikes are very light weight and have a lot of power, riding them requires experience. If you are a hobbyist, don't buy a very powerful car because it can result in painful falls. Of course, off-roading should be fun, but it needs to be approached with a head.

Cross bikes - how to choose the right model?

Capacity is not critical here, although its importance cannot be underestimated. But the most important thing is your height and weight. Why? Tricks, jumps and fast turns require excellent motorcycle feel. If you find it difficult to choose a position on it and sitting, then this is not the equipment you need. First of all, you should sit behind the wheel so that your feet freely touch the ground.

Cross bike choice and experience

What's next? Will you choose 125cc motocross bikes? see 2T or 4T (two-stroke and four-stroke), depends on your skills. At the very beginning of an off-road adventure, the most important thing is the skill and learning of driving techniques. Only then can you see results. Which cross bike to choose to start with? Make sure it's not too strong. If you are light and low, even 65 or 125 cc. Cm is a suitable engine.

Motocross 125cc 3T - where to start?

The issue of motocross bike capacity is clear - don't go crazy at first. Equally important for a beginner, a two- or four-stroke engine. What makes them different besides how they work? While enduro and cross bikes are easy to maintain, repairing 2-stroke XNUMX-strokes is easier. These engines are less complicated and sometimes cheaper to repair.

Self-repair of motorcycles cross 2T

You can learn how to easily repair a two-stroke engine. You can even fix more serious problems. Over time, replacing the piston will not be a problem for you, unless of course you are at least a little versed in mechanics. You can stay with 2T forever because many pros choose these engines as well. However, most people, having gained experience, choose 4T.

Motorcycle passability and operating costs

It must be said directly that off-road is not a sport for people who count every penny. You must be prepared to spend, it will depend on the category of car you are going to buy. The key to how much you spend is how big the engine you will have on your motocross bike, and whether it will be 2T or 4T. Buying a two-stroke motorcycle will save you some money. You can invest them and bring the bike to perfection or install tuning parts. You will find many of these on the market.

When looking at used motocross bikes, how not to hit a mine?

With two wheelers it's like cars or cargo vans because in the content of the sentence you can read basically whatever the author wants to type. Cross bikes are not used for rollerblading (because there are no shops on the competition tracks and in the forests), so they are quite heavily exploited. So just looking at the pictures and reading the content won't do much for you. You can count on the honesty of the seller.

What to look for when buying cross bikes?

Once there and looking at your coveted bike, pay attention to a few things:

● what condition are the wheel bearings in;

● the engine is not warmed up (the seller could have warmed it up in advance so that there would be no problems with starting by your arrival);

● that the spokes are tight and the rims are straight;

● how the suspension works and if there are any leaks;

● that the brakes are not worn and the discs are not bent.

It will be more difficult to know what condition the drive unit is in. However, you can check this when you try to start the hardware. If the engine does not start well when cold or smokes heavily, it may be better not to take this specimen. When you get a chance to drive, check the condition of the clutch and see if it's slipping.

Or maybe cross 125 with homologation?

Motocross bikes are for the decisive, so approach your purchase with peace of mind. It might be better to buy an enduro first, i.e. "civilized" version of the cross? In fact, this is a similar copy, only with the ability to move around the streets. These cross bikes can be perfect for getting you into the riding technique and getting the feel of the machine. Nothing stops you from getting a real off-road cross bike later on.

Whether you're betting on enduro or cross, find out where to buy it. The first motor of this type, probably, should not be new. Bet on a good "stimulator" to get to know the car and gain experience. After that, you can safely take on a new copy and take off-road seriously if you decide that this is the sport for you.
