Rare cars that have made such a mark throughout history as the Golf GTI. Interestingly, he was never particularly spectacular, never overflowing with power, but he is always in the spotlight. Maybe or mainly because its pedigree is entrenched in people as a synonym for the car. If we add power, driving dynamics and reliability to this, we get the abbreviation GTI.
A bit of a joke, a bit of truth, but the fact is that the Golf GTI (which started its journey back in 1976) has been constantly improved over the years. And now it's available to sports enthusiasts with an upgraded engine that, together with the Performance Package, offers 245 horsepower. Compared to its predecessor, the increase in power is 15 “horsepower”, 20 Newton meters is more torque. All of the above is enough for the Golf GTI Performance with DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission to sprint from 100 to 6,2 km/h in just XNUMX seconds. For better tire grip, it now comes with a differential lock as standard. Compared to its predecessor, the exterior is marked with red GTI lettering, now also featured on the brake calipers that hold the large brake discs.
The interior keeps up with the times. The advanced infotainment system can be equipped with multiple speakers, and from a safety standpoint, auto high beam, self-extinguishing rearview mirror, rain sensor and phone connectivity (including USB) have been included. list of standard equipment.
However, the test Golf still offered a lot of additional equipment, which, of course, made it much more expensive. But of all the accessories, only the spare wheel (49,18 euros), a rear-view camera (227,27 euros) and LED headlights with dynamic control (1.253,60 euros) can be selected as "necessary". This means you can add as little as € 1.500 to the base price and you get a top quality vehicle. All other accessories on the test car were good, but of course the car doesn't run better.
In fact, it would already be difficult. The Golf GTI has always driven well, and even now it is no exception. If you drive him with his head, he will always obey and turn where the driver wants. And will it be slow or just fast. The Golf GTI can do it all.
