Brief test: Renault Clio TCe 75 I Feel Slovenia // Clio that feels Slovenia?

Renault has been associated with Slovenia for several years. And last but not least, it has its own factory in Novo mesto, which is considered one of the best in the company, and in it they specialize mainly in the production of segment A and B segment cars. The latter also includes Renault Clio, which we are in Slovenia. was immediately taken for granted in the first generation. Renault reacted to this in the mid-XNUMXs by introducing a special Clia series called the Slovenian Open in honor of the tennis tournament in Domžale.

Now, more than 20 years after the Slovenian Open, Clio is on the road in its fourth generation, and this one is slowly saying goodbye. But Renault thinks it's still useful. The French brand again reached out to Slovenian buyers and offered them (another) special version of Clio, this time in the style of “our” travel slogan “I feel Slovenia”.

Clearly Renault has a pretty good opinion of Slovenia. This is the only way to explain their generosity in installing accessories in the car. It starts outward. In terms of design, the car is exactly the same as all other versions, with the exception of the sporty versions with the RS badge, from which it differs only in the purple-red color in which the test sample was wearing, in the headlights. integrated front LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights (which in the Clio only speaks for a higher level of equipment), dark alloy wheels and small decals on the trunk of the car, which are engraved with the word I feel Slovenia. At first glance, nothing new then. But most of the changes are inside. The faux leather around the edges of the seats, the velvet in the middle and the center armrest create a sense of prestige, and the seats are also commendable for providing ample lateral grip. The infotainment system has been updated but is difficult to read in direct sunlight and is not among the most transparent or fast. At first glance, there is enough technology, but the driver will quickly notice the absence of active radar cruise control or blind spot warning sensors while driving.

Motor? The 0,9-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with the TCe 75 designation offers the driver 56 kilowatts of power. In practice, the car is quite bumpy, especially in the city center, and its problems are caused by hourly acceleration on the highway. But 130 kilometers per hour (and when overtaking about a kilometer more) you will pass without problems. However, we expect a little more sophistication from it. Until the engine warms up, it runs restlessly and does not respond.

With the help of Clio I feel Slovenia, Renault wanted to extend the interest of Slovenian buyers to the specified vehicle for a few more months, which is likely to succeed. At first glance, this is a comfortable and richly equipped car that is already known on the market under the skin of the year.

evaluation

  • Clio I feel that Slovenia is betting on its looks and comfort because, thanks to the materials chosen, it can compete with slightly more expensive cars that are lagging behind in terms of safety technology.
