Well, we got to the most important question: what paint to paint alloy wheels with? In principle, two types are most often used - powder and acrylic, and each of them has its own pros and cons. Let's start in order. So, powder materials have excellent characteristics, they are absolutely not afraid of moisture or water, they are quite resistant to external mechanical influences. Also, such a coating will perfectly protect against dangerous corrosion and the negative effects of various chemicals (salts, acids, alkalis, etc.).
Restoration using powder paint has one huge drawback - expensive equipment. In this regard, it is advisable to carry it out in specialized workshops, and not at home.
The garage option is rightfully acrylic paint.. Of course, it is somewhat inferior to powder, but the result will also be excellent, while labor and material costs will be minimized. So spray paint for aluminum alloy wheels will achieve results in the shortest possible time, and its palette is much wider, which is also an indisputable advantage.
How is wheel paint selected?
We will not focus on such elementary things as the reliability of the product. After all, even a child knows that it is better to purchase high-quality products in company stores. Otherwise, the coating will be unreliable and will not last long. And this is essential for that part of the car that is in close proximity to the road surface, where it constantly encounters the impact of stones, sand or chemicals that are sprinkled on the road.
The second point that requires attention is the choice of color. Indeed, even at the slightest inconsistency of the expected shades, the car will look at least ridiculous. Therefore, it is better to purchase material from the same manufacturer. Be sure to check that the product is not expired. And, of course, it is better to buy paint material with a margin, so that later you do not run around all the outlets in search of the same product.
And if a brake caliper is visible from under the rims, and you would like to play with color here too, then nothing is impossible. True, there are some features here in the application process itself, because it is useless to make a coating on the braking area, but on the rest of the surface - please. Paint for brake discs is chosen in the same way as for the wheel base, and its type will depend on individual preferences and financial capabilities.
