The first full-size liftback KIA Stinger from the South Korean manufacturer appeared in early 2017, although hints of starting a similar project already appeared in 2011. Then the company demonstrated the concept GT, and a few years later - GT4, announcing its intention to release a production model of this class. The car has received an impressive appearance with a sporty design.

The car received a rear-wheel drive transmission and optional four-wheel drive (carried out by installing a multi-plate clutch that connects the front wheels when the drive axle slips).
One of two powertrain options is installed under the hood of the Gran Turismo class model. The younger ICE is equipped with a turbocharger. The volume of the power unit is 2.0 liters. The all-wheel drive version gets it. The second option is a 3.3-liter V-shaped turbo-six with twin turbochargers. This motor is used exclusively with a rear wheel drive transmission.
For the European buyer, a model with a 2.2l diesel engine is also offered. The engines are paired with an uncontested 8-speed automatic transmission.
