In the summer of 2018, the presentation of the KIA Niro EV electric crossover, which is based on the first generation Niro, took place. Externally, the electric version differs from the hybrid only in some design elements. The very first thing that catches your eye is the absence of a radiator grill. Instead, between the headlights is a charging module cover, made in the shape of a tiger's nostrils. The front and rear bumpers have been redrawn, and only 17-inch wheels are installed in the wheel arches.

Buyers of the KIA Niro EV 2018 are offered two options for power plants. The first is powered by a 64 kWh lithium-polymer battery, and the second is powered by an analogue, but more modest (39.2 kWh). In the first case, according to the WLTP cycle, the crossover is able to overcome up to 450 kilometers, and in the second version, the power reserve is no more than 240 km.

The battery supports fast charging. An empty battery can be replenished to 80 percent in almost an hour when connected to a 100 kilowatt terminal.
