Some machines do not have such a button, but the system can be disabled through the menu on the dashboard. Some do not use this feature, since it is quite troublesome (especially for those who are not friends with electronics).

But some manufacturers did not provide curious car owners the opportunity to disable the slip lock either using the button or through the menu. Is it possible to somehow disable the lock in this case?

Some theory

First, recall the theory. How does the ESP understand how fast a particular wheel spins? Thanks to the ABS sensor. If the car has an ESP system, ABS will also be present.

This means that in order to improve the off-road performance of the car, in order to be able to cross a difficult stretch of road where slippage is required, the ABS must be deactivated at least temporarily. Here are three small tricks to help make a small “upgrade” of the iron horse.

Turn off the fuse

The fuse box will necessarily have a protective element that prevents a short circuit due to system overload. Just take it out of the slot for the duration of the system deactivation. The dashboard will signal an ESP failure, but it will no longer intervene.

Disconnect ABS Sensor

You can also deactivate slip lock by deactivating the ABS system. To do this, simply disconnect one of the sensors on any wheel. The lock will immediately turn off completely. At the same time, it is important to be careful that the connection point is not completely covered by moisture or dirt, because contact can be poor when reconnecting, and the system will malfunction.

Disable central unit terminal

Locate the ABS controller and simply disconnect the connection terminal. As in the previous case, be sure to protect the contact area from moisture or dirt.
