The new generation of innovative tires will be available in early 2017. In front of international and Bulgarian media representatives, the international technology company and tire manufacturer Continental has unveiled in warm Spain the latest generation of its summer flagship, PremiumContact 6. The new generation of innovative tires will be available in early 2017 and will gradually replace their highly successful predecessors, the ContiPremiumContact 5 and ContiSportContact 5. ...
The new PremiumContact 6 combines comfort, precise handling, maximum safety and good environmental performance in one product. In the course of its development, engineers have created new components, an innovative design borrowed from the high-tech SportContact 6, and a tread pattern that ensures comfortable driving. The result is a product with 15% better handling, rolling resistance, durability and comfort than its predecessor.
The new PremiumContact 6 will be available in 70 wheel sizes ranging from 16 to 21 inches for mid-range, high-end vehicles and SUVs. Today, ahead of the official launch of PremiumContact 6, 70 prototypes are being tested by carmakers around the world. Continental has provided 400 different types of original equipment especially for car manufacturers.
“The PremiumContact 6 is the perfect combination of a luxury sedan and a sports car,” said Katharina Silva, Continental Product Manager EMEA. “We have been able to combine our 145 years of tire design experience with extensive knowledge of driver assistance systems to meet the high demands of today's users.”
The width of the new tire starts from 195 mm and reaches 275 mm. The gear ratio is between 65 and 40%, and the approved speed reaches 300 km / h. Like its predecessors, the ContiSportContact 5 and ContiPremiumContact 5, the PremiumContact 6 has excellent braking performance, especially when wet. Ingredients for a rubber compound from Continental in Hanover have created a new ingredient in synthetic amorphous silicon, and the tire has been awarded the EU "A" label for wet grip. In addition, Continental chemists and engineers have made further strides in improving durability, rolling resistance and driving comfort by combining a friction-resistant polymer with a flexible tread pattern.
Last but not least, another important development goal was the creation of sports management in all car models. To this end, the engineers presented the design of the high-tech SportContact 6 page and paired it with asymmetrical tread ribs. As a result, this design perfectly absorbs lateral turning forces. With its latest PremiumContact 6, Continental is targeting a specific segment of the car and van tire market, where the focus is on safety, precision and the highest driving comfort in the mid to high-end segment. Increasingly, both manufacturers and drivers are looking for tires with precisely those characteristics that simultaneously meet the technical and social requirements for individual mobility. In Spain, Continental also unveiled the new CrossContact ATR, Continental's SUV and pickup offering, which will also be available at the start of Year 2.
