Today we get acquainted with one of the leaders of the Chinese automobile industry - the BYD brand. This company produces a wide range of sizes from subcompact and electric vehicles to premium business sedans. BYD cars have a fairly high degree of safety, which is confirmed by various crash tests.

The origin of the brand goes back to 2003. It was at that time that the bankrupt company Tsinchuan Auto LTD was bought out by a small company that produced batteries for mobile phones. The BYD range then included the only car model - Flyer, which was produced in 2001. Despite this, the company, which had a rich history in the automotive industry and a new leadership and direction in development, continued on its way.

The emblem itself was designed in 2005, when the company was still producing batteries. Wang Chuanfu became its founder.

The original emblem included many elements of the BMW company - the colors matched. The difference was an oval instead of a circle, as well as the fact that the white and blue colors were not divided into four parts, but into two. Today, the brand has a different emblem: three capital letters of the slogan - BYD - are enclosed in a red oval.

So, having entered the market in 2003 with one car, the company continued its development. 

Already in 2004, a restyling of the model was released, with a new engine, previously used in Suzuki cars.

Since 2004, BYD Auto has been opening a large scientific center, founded for research and for the implementation of improvements, new characteristics, and testing of vehicles for durability. The company developed quickly enough, as a result of which the brand had numerous investors, whose money was invested in new developments.

Since 2005, BYD cars have appeared in the markets of the post-Soviet countries, namely in Russia and Ukraine. This year is marked by the re-release of the Flyer. 

In addition, in 2005, a new, own development BYD was released, which became the F3 Sedan. The car was equipped with a 1,5-liter engine that develops 99 horsepower. The car was classified as a business class. In just one year, the company managed to sell about 55000 new cars. High-quality assembly and low price did their job: sales increased by almost half a thousand percent.

The auto industry saw the next novelty in 2005. BYD has released a new model of the BYD f3-R Hatchback car. The car was a success with people who prefer an active life. The equipment was fully consistent with this: the five-door car had a large interior and a comfortable roomy trunk.

In 2007, BYD's range was expanded with the F6 and F8 vehicles.

The F6 has become a kind of restyling of the F3 car, only with a more powerful and larger engine, as well as an elongated body and a more spacious interior. In its configuration, the BIVT engine became equal in power to 140 horsepower and received a volume of 2 liters, and valve timing appeared. in addition, a car with such an engine could develop a high speed - about 200 km / h.

BYD F8 is an innovative development of the company, which is a convertible with a 2-liter engine with a capacity of 140 horsepower. The design of this car has become more ergonomic compared to other cars of the brand. It had dual headlights, the logo was placed on a sophisticated radiator grille, the rear-view windows were enlarged, the interior was in a light, beige color scheme.

the new car was released in 2008. They became the BYD F0/F1 hatchback. It is presented in the following configuration: a three-cylinder 1-liter engine with a capacity of 68 horsepower. The speed that this car developed was 151 kilometers per hour. In the conditions of the city, it has become an ideal solution.

At the same time, the company released another novelty of the automotive industry - BYD F3DM. During the year of implementation in China, BYD sold about 450 thousand units. The company conquered new countries: South America, African and Middle Eastern countries. This car could work in electric and hybrid modes. With the use of electricity, the car could cover 97 kilometers, while in a hybrid - about 480 kilometers. The advantage of the car was that in 10 minutes of charging, its battery was charged up to half.

BYD is committed to making electric cars, or electric cars, as its primary goal. Along with the creation of light electric cars, the brand is focused on the introduction of electric buses.

Since 2012, in collaboration with Bulmineral, BYD has formed an enterprise that produces electric buses, and already in 2013, the car manufacturer received a license to sell electric cars for the European Union.

In the Russian Federation, the leader of the Chinese car industry BYD has become known since 2005. The first model that a Russian buyer saw was a specially released Flyer. But the full-scale emergence of the company did not happen at this stage.

The development of the Russian market continued more successfully in 2007 with the appearance in Russia of such models as Flyer A-class, F3, F3-R. In the first half of the year, after the appearance of these cars, 1800 cars were sold. At this time, the production of BYD F3 was organized at the TagAZ automobile plant. In one year, 20000 units were produced. Other cars won their place on the Russian market later. So, today the F5 family sedan is sold here. the F7 business class sedan; and the S6 crossover.

About 40 thousand employees are involved in its work. and production is based in Beijing, Shanghai, Sinai and Shenzhen. The range of the brand includes cars of various classes: small cars, sedans, hybrid models, electric cars and buses. Every year, BYD receives about 500 patents for scientific development and experimental research.
