Test Grilles: Seat Alhambra 2.0 TDI (103 kW) Style

Electric sliding side sliding doors on both sides of the car are certainly a very desirable gadget, if you subtract the extra charge (thousandths) of course and annoy nerves when children also play with things not intended for play. But let's be honest: the increased electrification of the driver's nerves should be attributed to childish playfulness, a desire to learn, or ... ha, rudeness, but by no means a weakness of the car. On the other hand, the game can be attributed to a good purpose in the test: if the technique has withstood child abuse, it will serve its purpose for years to come. Believe me.

I was surprised that the Alhambra is bigger than it was in my memory. The groom's knee was suddenly out of reach, the kids' hustle and bustle became more distant, and the parking spaces were shockingly small, despite the help of a semi-automatic Park Assist system (surcharge of 375 euros). All this, of course, is not a criticism, but the fact that there is really a lot of space inside. We should separately praise the three independent and easily adjustable seats in the second row and the size of the trunk for a five-seat one, but with seven seats installed, do not count on the transportation of bicycles, wheelchairs and scooters ...

A reversing camera is highly recommended and is included with the Seat Sound System 3 along with a color screen (touch screen), CD changer and MP3.0 playback, as 482 euros for this accessory is not too much. quantity. We were also impressed with the extended Style package (as Seat calls it), as it includes 17-inch alloy wheels, sportier seats, a stiffer chassis, tinted glass and special interior upholstery.

Are you saying that for such a car a more sporty chassis is nonsense? In principle, we completely agree with you, except that the Alhambra is written on the skin. With this configuration, the Seat family car has more steering response and better on the road, and on the other hand, not a single family member complained about too stiff springs and dampers. And it's even nicer to look at.

The technique of the test machine was so proven that it could no longer be tested. The 103-kilowatt two-liter TDI turbo diesel and six-speed manual transmission are probably used in many Volkswagen, Audi, Seats and Skoda on our roads right now as you read these lines. The combination has also proven itself in the larger Alhambra, as the engine breathes full light even at low revs, impresses with torque and satisfactory fuel economy, and the drivetrain follows the driver's right-hand commands precisely and predictably. Ah, how easy it is to get used to good things, even if at heart you are not a fan of turbo diesels or manual gear shifting!

One final consolation: the kids will soon grow up, so there will be more electric access to the back of the car for friends, bicycles, sleeping bags, a tent and a barbecue. Tempting, isn't it?
