America's main car succeeded generation

About Ford F-150 became known 43 years ago. The previous, 13th generation of the truck was revolutionary, since aluminum was used in its manufacture. After six years on the market and one facelift in 2017, Ford introduced a new generation of the most popular car in North America.

There are no revolutionary changes this time, as the truck retains its steel frame and suspension configuration. Apparently, the changes are also not serious, while the similarities with the previous generation are intentionally preserved. Ford claims that all body panels are new, and thanks to an updated design, this is the most aerodynamic pickup in the history of the model.

The new Ford F-150 will be available in three cab types, each with two wheelbase options. As for the power units, there are 6 of them, and a 10-speed automatic SelectShift is used as a box. The pickup will be available with 11 front grille options and a choice of wheels ranging from 17 to 22 inches. However, LED lights are not included in the main equipment.

He also lost a 12-inch central monitor, which is the key to innovation in the cabin along with a multimedia system. The basic version gets an 8-inch screen and an analog panel, and as an option for some versions a virtual tidy with the same 12-inch display will be available.

More curious options are announced for the pickup truck. For example, the seats can rotate almost 180 degrees, and the Interior Work Surface system provides a small table that can comfortably accommodate a 15-inch laptop. The Ford F-150 can also be equipped with the Pro Power Onboard system, which allows you to power everything from a refrigerator to heavy construction tools from the truck's electrical system. With a gasoline engine, the generator delivers 2 kilowatts and with the new unit up to 7,2 kilowatts.

As Ford changed its generation, the F-150 officially received the “soft” hybrid system. The 3,5-liter V6 turbo engine receives an additional 47-hp drive, and this version also gets its own version of a 10-speed automatic transmission. The current mileage alone was not disclosed, but the company claims that the fully charged hybrid version travels over 1100 km, pulling cargo up to 5,4 tons.

The list of internal combustion engines includes well-known units: a 6-cylinder atmospheric volume of 3,3 liters, a turbo V6 with 2,7 and 3,5 liters, a 5,0-liter atmospheric V8 and a 3,0-liter diesel engine with 6 cylinders. Engine power is not reported, but the manufacturer claims that they will be more powerful and more economical. In addition, Ford is also preparing an all-electric version of the model.

Among the innovations for the F-150 included a system for remote updating of on-board software (for the first time in the segment), a large number of online service providers, a speaker system from Bang and Olufsen, and 10 new driver assistants. The truck will also receive autopilot.
