Geely may buy Aston Martin stake

Recently, Aston Martin refused to release its first electric car Rapide E. The reason is financial difficulties. As it turned out, the automaker has big problems, and he is looking for ways to solve them.

In 2018, Aston Martin announced a massive “sale” of shares. Despite the big name, no major buyers were found. Due to such skepticism on the part of investors, the company's shares fell in price by 300%. Such a fall does not put an end to the ambitions of Aston Martin, because it is still a legendary brand, and there are those who want to make money on it.

For example, among the applicants is Canada's billionaire Lawrence Stroll, who is a co-owner of many well-known brands: for example, Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors.

According to media reports, Lawrence is ready to invest £ 200 million in the auto concern. For this amount, he wants to get a seat on the board of directors. This is a relatively small amount of money, but given the position of Aston Martin, it can be decisive. In the accounts of the automaker now there are only 107 million. Gilly's emblem

Geely is showing interest in buying. Recall that in 2017 she had already saved one manufacturer - Lotus. After the completion of the transaction, he quickly "came to life" and regained his position in the market.

If the purchase is successful, the automotive market will expect an interesting and, most likely, productive cooperation between Aston Martin and Lotus. The main question is whether Geely will be able to financially “pull” this project. Most likely, we will soon find out the answer to this question, because if Aston Martin is going to attract new investors, it must be done quickly.
