The Kia Sportage is one of the most successful and established hybrids in Europe, so it was clear that there would be no major changes at this stage of the update. Accordingly, Kia's design department opted for a minor facelift, giving the newcomer a new front and rear bumper, new headlights, and an updated lineup of 16-, 17-, and 18-inch wheels.

We'll have to wait a bit for the biggest novelty, that is, a mild hybrid coupled with a new 1,6-liter turbodiesel, but the XNUMX-liter turbodiesel in the test facility is also new to the offer. It replaces the previous 1,7-liter CRDi and is available in two power options: 84 and 100 kilowatts.. There are no performance differences from its predecessor, but thanks to the improvements it has become much calmer and quieter, and also responded slightly better in the lower engine speed range. In a six-speed manual, they complement each other perfectly, the gear ratios are cleverly calculated so the first two gears are a bit more nimble and the sixth is economically long.
For an additional 1.800 euros, you get an excellent seven-speed automatic transmission.which brings more comfort is enough as the Sportage is mostly well-equipped. Here we think mainly about some of the sweets, such as cruise control, XNUMX-inch screen infotainment interface, automatic air conditioning, rain sensor, rear view camera and so on.
Looking inside, you can see the recognizable environment of Kia. The steering wheel, sensors and air conditioning switches have been slightly changed, but everything is so that it is immediately clear to those who are used to Kij. Ergonomics, cabin usability and ease of operation are attributes that were already at the forefront of its predecessor, and this time is no different.
