Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD Active Liberty

Multipla is one of those cars that raised a lot of dust at the presentation. The boxy shape of the cabin, individual darkened and long headlights and six comfortable seats (two rows of three!) impressed some while leaving others downright cool. But regardless of the answer, Multipla was something special.

Refurbishment took a step back at Fiat as they came up with special deals that would appeal to the average buyer. Long headlights are no longer installed under the windshield, but are now in a "classic" location next to the tinted bulbs. Whether that is good or not, the sales figures will show, but we are still of the opinion that the conservatism of design somehow does not suit him. Fortunately, all the other good qualities that this car was famous for remained.

Thanks to the square roof, there is enough headroom in the cabin, the width is so wide that it can accommodate three parallel seats (which, incidentally, provide sufficient comfort for a long time). trips!). We're not talking about workspace at all. The gear lever, which protrudes behind the center console, is conveniently located next to the driver's license, and thanks to the huge glass surfaces (especially the side windows that extend to the waist of the passengers!) Visibility is more than satisfactory. ...

Yes, with Mutlipla you will want to go on long trips too. At that time, the 1-liter common rail turbodiesel engine with 9 hp will come to the fore. sharp enough not to catch your breath even on longer descents.

Peak torque of 203 Nm at a low 1500 rpm ensures you can ignore an otherwise good drivetrain, and modest average fuel consumption (7 liters per 7 km) will make gas stops a rarity. Behind the dashboard, there are quite a few closed drawers that are ordered for car cards or sandwiches, but despite car repairs, they still work pretty cheaply. Fortunately, we have not found any known crickets where plastic parts start to make sound due to vibration.

The design of the redesigned Multipla once again caused an avalanche of enthusiasm and criticism. Judge for yourself who you belong to. But believe me, there is still technically a limousine van that hasn't disappointed us for seven years!

evaluation

  • Perhaps the Multipla will be more “salable” due to its more classic body shapes, but it has lost what is increasingly appreciated. This is individuality, originality, uncommonness. But everything that we knew before remains: comfort, spaciousness, flexibility and affordability.
