It has been a full five years since the Panamera Sport Turismo concept was unveiled, when Porsche announced the world's fastest station wagon. Obviously, a Panamera refurbishment was expected and now the first van body design in the history of the Porsche fleet is finally available.

Looking at the dimensions in the technical data, you doubt their correctness, but the fact is that the caravan version of the Panamera is not much different from the "regular" sister. Although the wheelbase and overall length are the same, the Sport Turismo differs only in the shape of the rear end from the B-pillar. Weight gain is also minimal and averages only about 30 kilograms.

It's about flexibility

But the essence is still in the flexibility of the trunk and back bench. In Sport Turism, the seating arrangement follows the 4 + 1 system, where +1 actually means an emergency seat on the middle ridge. But still, even there, the child will enjoy the ultra-fast ride from kindergarten to the house. Adults generally notice an increase in overhead height, as there is no sense of constriction due to the late fall of the buttocks. Separate heated, cooled and massage seats are also available at an additional cost.

But the advantages of the station wagon version do not end there. The volume of the boot itself is not much larger than in the classic Panamera: with the usual arrangement of seats it is increased by 20 liters, while in folded seats the volume is increased by 50 liters. The main difference is easier access to the luggage compartment, as the tailgate is much larger and the lower edge of the luggage compartment is completely lowered.

The same motorization

Otherwise, the Panamera Sport Turismo is motorized in all versions in the same way as the classic Panamera. This means it is available as an entry-level model with a 330 horsepower petrol engine followed by a 440 horsepower twin-turbo petrol engine, the 462 horsepower hybrid system is already Seriously, while the top of the lineup is models Turbo with 550 "horsepower" and Turbo S E-Hybrid with a system output of 680 "horsepower".

And while the essence of the Sport Turismo is hidden in the rear seats, we chose to drive to see the "effects" of lifting behind the passengers. We managed to make sure that the novelty does not deviate too much from the classic sister in terms of driving dynamics on beautiful roads from Trogir to Pag. There is no feeling of clumsiness or weight gain in any part of the ride, even at high speeds the stability is exceptional. The station wagon version also boasts so-called adaptive aerodynamics, as they managed to hide another spoiler in the roof spoiler. It is mobile, adapts to the selected travel and speed program and is capable of generating up to 50 kilograms of additional traction to the ground.

In terms of price, the Panamera Sport Turismo will, on average, cost four thousandths more than the classic Panamera, but that is paltry for a car where most of the items on the secondary list are more expensive than that amount.

Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the first Porsche in which the hybrid version represents the most prestigious version of the model. After a short communication, we managed to make sure that he meets all the conditions for this championship.

Compared to the "regular" Panamera Turbo, the car has added 310 kg in weight, but the classic transmission (V8 engine with 550 "horsepower") is now complemented by a 100 kW electric motor, supported by a 14 kWh battery. Combined, it creates an impressive 680 "horsepower" of system power and an incredible 850 Newton-meters of torque, which are available just above idle.

We can only imagine how hard the PDK 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is working, and even more impressed by the ceramic brakes, which never for a moment feel like they are down to 2.400kg. automobile. But if the green mind sweeps over you for just a moment, such a Porsche will be able to cover the 50-kilometer distance only in electric mode.
