Driving on mountain roads and on steep descents

28.1

On mountain roads and steep descents, where oncoming traffic is difficult, the driver of a vehicle moving on a descent must give way to vehicles moving on an ascent.

28.2

On mountain roads and steep descents, a truck driver, the permissible maximum mass of which exceeds 3,5 tons, of a tractor and a bus must:

a)use special mountain brakes if they are installed on the vehicle by the manufacturer;
b)when stopping or parking on ascents and descents, use wheel chocks.

28.3

On mountain roads it is forbidden:

a)move with the engine off and the clutch or gear disengaged;
b)flexible towing;
at)any towing during icy conditions.
