Dacia Logan Pick-Up 1.5 dCi (50 кВт) Atmosphere

There's a big gap between the smaller pickups, because if we look at the larger off-road brothers, the choices here are modest.

Maybe because these smaller "semi-trailers" aren't the most eye-catching, but who's to blame them - they made them for work, not lipstick or adventurous off-road travel.

Plumbers, painters, chimney sweeps, in short, all those who, by the nature of their work, spend most of their time in the city and the crowds on the streets, get a van with a length of just under 4 meters and a length of 5 meters. meters wide.

Cargo space is by no means small, and we quickly got rid of that bias during testing. I must admit that at first we looked at the trunk, underestimating, you say, what can be put into the "box" of such a small pickup? !!

But look at her, mistake! Cargo space is 1.807 mm long and 1.374 mm wide, or 1.024 mm when measured between the rear fenders. With a load height of 636 mm, the load is also easily accessible, for which the spine will be even more grateful as there is no need to bend deeply to empty the boot.

Of course, in addition to the basic roof rack, Dacia also offers a solid plastic upgrade that closes the trunk and makes the Pick-Up a true little van. This is definitely worth considering if you are uploading products that might smell unprepared.

We can also say about the barrel that it impressed us with its many attachment points and plastic protection, which ensures a beautiful appearance even with rougher use. We were also pleased with the load capacity, as it allows us to carry up to 800 kg of cargo, which is already equivalent to larger off-road pickups, especially since the tailgate can be lowered and loaded with up to 300 kg of cargo. - and such a load is already worth going around.

When driving, the Dacia does not present big surprises, but, on the other hand, does what is expected of it. The star, of course, is the Renault 1.5 dCi turbo diesel engine with 70 “horsepower”, which provides an incredibly low consumption (measured with an empty trunk) of 4 liters of diesel fuel per 9 kilometers, and at the same time provides quite decent driving dynamics. suitable for this pickup.

Even inside, everything is subject to usability. The plastic is durable, the drawers are enough to store all small items, and there is useful space behind the seats for clothes or tool boxes.

With its solid construction, decent payload, ample trunk space and, above all, incredibly moderate fuel consumption, the Logan Pickup is an interesting partner. In this version, prices start at 9.960 € 1, which is at the same time a good thousand more than the version with a 6-liter petrol engine. Our favorite is definitely the oil drinker, because the difference in fuel consumption makes the investment quickly turn in favor of diesel.

evaluation

  • The Logan Pick-Up may not be the prettiest or most off-road pickup truck, but if you take it as a work partner, it can be a pleasant surprise.
