CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System)

CTIS (Central Tire Inflation System)CTIS is an acronym for Central Tire Inflation System. This system was used and is used mainly on military vehicles ZIL, Hammer to maintain constant tire pressure in case of failure. The system can also be used for targeted pressure reduction to increase the tire's contact area with the road. The system can change the tire pressure while driving, thereby improving the car's flotation on rough terrain. Due to the lower pressure, the tire deforms and at the same time the contact area with the ground increases. At first glance, a complex system works quite simply. To keep the wheel connected to the air supply, but not twist the supply due to rotation, air is directed through the center of the drive shaft. At the end, it is removed from the wheel hub and connected to the air valve of the tire.
