What happens to the drift suspension?
Few thought about what happens to the car's suspension when drifting. Fortunately, Go Pro cameras are becoming more compact and sophisticated, allowing you to view your vehicle from multiple angles.
This was used by the American Matt Meek, who gained immense popularity thanks to videos posted on his YouTube channel. In this case, he placed a camera under the drifting car, as well as another in the rear wheel.
The photos were taken on a public road, and during the tests, Matt's friends blocked traffic. The result is some pretty interesting footage that shows the tires deforming - less than expected, because they hardly change their normal position when sliding.
It is interesting to observe the operation of the rear suspension, as well as the transmission, especially when passing bumps with a skid.
