Along with the front-wheel drive updated BYD Song crossover, its hybrid version appeared, which received the DM (dual drive mode) index. The restyled car was presented in 2018 as part of an automobile exhibition in Chengdu. The exterior is identical across all Songs for the 2018 model year. The front end has got an enlarged grille and sharper transitions between the elements, and stylish narrow lights appeared at the rear.

TECH SPECS:
Under the hood of the SUV is the same hybrid setup as the previous model. The main unit in it is a turbocharged 4-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, which is reinforced with two electric motors. Each of them drives the wheels of its axle.
Thanks to this, the model received four-wheel drive, although the classic version is only front-wheel drive. It does not have a transfer case and a locking differential, so the cross-country ability does not correspond to a full-fledged SUV. But the dynamics of this model is almost like a sports car.
