At the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, a slightly modified Toyota Aygo clone was presented, only in Chinese version. Compact hatchback BYD e1 has front-wheel drive. Externally, the car is very similar to Aygo, except for a modified front bumper and head optics.

Despite the external resemblance to its Japanese counterpart, from the technical point of view, BYD e1 is a completely different car. Under the hood, it's an electric car. The battery is located under the passenger compartment floor. The battery allows the vehicle to travel up to 360 kilometers on a single charge. If the car is connected to a fast charging station, the battery will fill up to 100% in about an hour and a half. In the same mode, the battery is filled from 30 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

EQUIPMENT

In the basic equipment, the manufacturer included a parktronic with a camera, LED optics, air conditioning and other equipment. The interior of BYD e1 differs more than the exterior in comparison with the similar Japanese model. Everywhere in the interior there are decorative inserts made of materials of bright colors. Instead of the usual scales, a digital dashboard is installed (8-inch screen), a 10-inch multimedia system monitor can rotate (horizontal or vertical position).
